You ain't old, I'm an immortal and I come from the age of horse-back riding and good ol' three foot walking
But Cheetor as a childhood toy, dayum - at least you got a main character. One of the only official TFs I had in my youth was a BM Jetstorm, had no idea who he was and no idea why he looked like an alien jet.
Btw, those unusual leg things you talk about are known as CHAPS, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaps - thank American Pickers for that bit of knowledge
Don't really understand why Animated Blitzwing is copping so more flak in this thread.
I really enjoyed this figure, it was actually one of my favs in the Animated line. My first Animated fig (I think..), had zero of the QC issues mentioned by everyone else, has a decent flight mode (minus the tank kibble), and an awesome tank mode (I really liked Metal Slug in HS).![]()
If you bought the Hasbro Animated Blitzwing then it was misassembled: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radico...error-fix.html And have a look at the tabs where it locks in in tank mode. If (again) yours is from Hasbro and it doesn't have any plastic stress like on the left in Goktimus's post here then it's miraculous.
I don't recall any stress marks on the fig, and I did transform it a few times. I'm heading back to Sydney this weekend and may dig it out to have a look (needing to dig out another fig for a personal project/obsession). Thanks for the link!
Loved BW Cheetor as a kid! It was my very first BW fig and I transformed him a bajillion times! Never had any issues with the ball joints degrading. Plastic from that era was awesome.
Mine is Hasbro and has minor stress marks. Those pics look like some seriously messed up plastic or mishandling though! Those type of snap-in connections can be super tight if you're just pulling the pieces away from each other, but if you separate them as if you were breaking a cracker/biscuit in half, they come apart with no effort whatsoever.
I'm 22 at the moment, so I guess I'm still young compared to the average Transfan.
Sky Shadow's right on the money, BW Cheetor was my childhood toy. I remember calling literally dozens of retailers when I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade, trying desperately to find a Cheetor that my aunty could buy for my birthday. Definitely one of my fondest memories.
You must be close to my age Skywarp, if you were playing with a BM Jetstorm!
