Some of you may remember my earlier Overlord (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showth...light=overlord ). Nothing wrong with it, except its waaaaay out of scale with deluxes, which some people may like, and the tank mode was a bit of a stretch.
So after seeing this by brr-icy on tfw2005 http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radico...-overlord.html I had to give it a shot.
It was made using a universe Silverbolt and bits from a two-pack deluxe Megatron, both bought from these boards! It still makes the noises and lights, but I had to cut the wiring to get the nosepiece off as a shield. I couldn't find any purple cones for his shoulders so I painted the wing edges purple to create the visual illusion. I painted the arms off-white so they'd stand out against the white underside of the jet.
The tank turret is just resting on the legs in tank mode. I had to choose between either making it being able to be held by hand in robot mode or fixing on in tank mode. Robot mode won.
I use Silverbolt's wheel wells as Overlord's powermaster engines.
I cut and re-shaped the leg joins so the legs can be twisted off. They still lock in for robot mode.
More action pics/poses to come.
