Animorphs was the worst case of pimping out the franchise IMO. Some might argue that Disney Label was pretty cringeworthy too -- although I didn't mind them (though they were overpriced -- I never got any of them at full RRP).

Really? Did you miss Beast Wars, Transformers Animated and More Than Meets the Eye? Actually let's not forget the three live action movies. I did a lot of laughing with first movie, not so much with the 2nd and 3rd film.Transformers hasn't gone the comedy angle for a reason

There's a difference between comic relief and comedy. Transformers often has comic relief characters or elements or moments in it, but that doesn't necessarily make them comedies per se.

I thought your criticisms were sarcastic to begin with, poking fun at the kind of people that would complain about what sounds like a fun concept.
Now I think I might have been wrong to believe that.
