Smile Where to find Japanese Version Transformers in Sydney?

    Hi all,

I am new here. Just would like to know where I can get Jap version Transformers in Aussie. I just came back overseas and am a collector of Jap version.

    Thanks!

Order online. Off the top of my head I can't think of any import stores in the Sydney area. And the ones that used to be around Ultimo are either gone of way too expensive.

Not much out here in Carlo either.
Which brings us to where we are today...

Thank you for your info. I think it would be the best way to do so then, otherwise I would need to ask my friend to send it to me from overseas..

You can find some at import stores here, but they're quite expensive because of all the taxes, duties, levies etc. that the government slaps on imports, often making them about twice what you'd pay if you bought directly from Japan. You can order online stores in Japan like Amiami and HLJ etc., or if you know someone in Japan you can get them to get the toy(s) for you and send it over directly (which is particularly useful for more limited exclusive stuff). But yeah, getting it from overseas works out cheaper than purchasing it from local import specialty stores. But the advantage of getting it from import specialty stores is that you can inspect the toy/packaging first hand and you have the toy in hand (no need to wait for shipping). Also it can be more convenient if there's a problem with the toy and you need to exchange/refund. So there's pros and cons on both sides.

There aren't any specialty import stores in Carlo (in fact, I can't think of anywhere other than Target where you can get TFs from there, despite being so close to Hasbro in Epping!), but check out some game stores (like Game), Kinokuniya and some places that sell Gunpla around the CBD/Chinatown area, as well as upstairs in the Capitol Square Building -- you know where all the Gashapon and Pachinko machines are, but not in that area, if you duck off into the small little corridors where a lot of the computer stores are, there's at least one or two collectable Gunpla/anime toy stores there.
