It's something that I originally created for my G1 Stinger fan bio, which retcons the 1984 red variant of the original Bumblebee toy.But yeah, it was also a deliberate play on how Stinger is arguably anything but a Masterpiece.
i.e.:
* Made by KSI in imitation of Bumblebee (which he refers to as a "cheap knock off").
* Dat transformation.
* A rather forgetful character (even as a "prime clone," which is how I've written him)
You'll notice that in the G1 bio, Stinger has all of Bumblebee's powers, but weaker; further reinforcing the idea that he is an inferior imitation of Bumblebee.
