Mp-10 Is Getting Ridiculous

Honestley the mp-10 mold is far superior in most ways, a perfect evoloution of the mp01/04 mold. very much worth getting.
I was very content paying 250 for the takara release and 150 for the domestic

I got MP01, then skipped MP04 because I didn't want to pay $200 (or $250 if that was the price at Target (I don't remember, but that sounds about right)) for the same toy with a trailer (and no Roller). I skipped MP10, because while it was a whole new mould with trailer and Roller (and Spike), I couldn't justify paying $245 for it. When it came out here for $150 I accepted it and paid it.

MP04 was bigger and had metal, but no Roller (or Spike) and it was about $250. MP10 is smaller and plastic, but it's a $100 cheaper. For me, Hasbro's MP10 was justified because it was a mould that I didn't already own, and at a cheaper price.

I know I was put off by the smallness at first mostly because of TakaraTOMY's price. I don't mind if they want to make smaller MPs per se... I just didn't like the original price... MP04 originally retailed for about $200, and MP10 for $245... I personally didn't think it was worth paying that price for a for MP10 - even with Roller and Spike, it was a smaller and fully plastic toy.

The colours do look nicer on metal, but it's not so much that it "needs" to be metal per se, but metal is a more expensive material. If a toy is going to be all plastic, then it ought to be relatively cheaper than a toy that uses die-cast metal parts IMHO. That's why I didn't get into collecting Alternators -- when those toys first came out, they retailed for approx. the same price as Binaltech. For nearly the same price, I might as well just get die cast metal Binaltechs! So for me it's not just about "metal vs plastic," but rather value for money.

Having said that, I think Hasbro's MP10 is reasonable value and worth paying $150. To put things in perspective, Hasbro's MP Grimlock sold for about the same price... that was expensive. But I think it's decent for Optimus Prime.

i still believe that the reason people think mp-4 is too big is because of limited articulation and thickness if they kept the figure a bit shorter thinned it out proportioned the legs fixed the back but kept the gimmicks then it would be perfect.

I also find mp-10 ironic considering that mp-4 was called perfect edition.

I have both MP01 and Hasbro's MP10, and I think both moulds have their pros and cons. Overall the MP01 mould is a better toy in terms of all the really cool features they packed into it (suspension on the wheels, suspension on the ankles, pistons, vents, flip up comms panels, moving mouthplate, LED gimmick for the Matrix, greater articulation etc.) -- MP01 seriously gave you a lot of bang for your buck! The MP10 cab-robot doesn't quite give you that same bang, but it is a very nice and tight looking robot... the robot mode doesn't have anywhere NEAR as many features as MP01, but the truck mode does look better (in terms of the main front cab half -- the rear section (formed by the legs) looks better on MP01 which is nowhere as uber-chunky as MP10's). I found the trailer on MP04 to be a bit too plain, whereas MP10's is nicer IMO, and of course it comes with Roller and Spike.

In Japanese it's called 完全版 ("Kanzenban") which can also mean "complete" (which is a more literal translation*)... which is also ironic because it was missing Roller! I don't care if it doesn't come with Spike or whatever... but Roller!

I thought a better use of that word was with the original 2001 reissue of G1 Megatron (also called "Kanzenban") - because that came with all the same accessories as the original G1 Hasbro Megatron (scope, silencer, stock), and it came with the sword and bullets from the Japanese version. To me, that made it a "complete" version of G1 Megatron. The later TFC reissue came with the Energon flail - but none of the original Megatrons came with that (it was more like a "bonus" accessory), so I don't considering it absolutely necessary to make a "complete" G1 Megatron toy. I certainly couldn't justify buying another reissue just for the flail (I later got eHobby Megaplex who comes with that same flail (in different colour) anyway )

actually no if you watch the g1 cartoon optimus and megatron were much larger than other transformers especially in the older seasons and metal represents ,durability , and support metal feet stabilize the figure ,rubber tires make it roll ,better size makes it look more impressive.

i know it's too late for mp-1 but i still feel these problems could have been averted if they just made lambor bigger instead of smaller and the changes i listed are not the same as mp-10. mp-10 has problems witch the mp-1 mold did not and vice versa a fusion of the two would be incredible.
