Default Lockdown, Ratchet and the EMP generator

Having now purchased both these toys, has anyone else had the same trouble getting the EMP generator (Lockdown's engine accessory) to connect to Ratchet's left arm?

The spot where is is supposed to attach is clear, but it won't actually click into place. Worse, the small button on the underside that flips out the barrels has a spring that works to actually push the accessory off of the arm!

Am I doing something wrong, or is this another Hasbro QC cockup?

I have the exact same problem! It just will NOT attach to Ratchet's arm. As our favourite monorator would say, ggrrr!

No problems for me... Mine works on both figures - in fact it's a really excellent gimmick! (The spring loaded barrels are great)

Yours is definitely a QC issue, and I would return it for a refund/swap!

I went to take a look at the Teletraan-1 Wiki page, and it says that:

Early releases of the Ratchet toy had the peg slightly too long, forcing the EMP to pop out of the socket. Later releases (basically most everything beyond the original "test market" release) had a shorter peg, allowing the EMP to clip in just fine.
So, I might be getting out the dremel...
