kup is referring to the rifle (photon missile launcher) that Jetfire is holding in robot mode (although he can also hold it in jet and Alternate mode (aka Gerwalk mode).

Sorry Gok, but that's wrong. I am refering to the clip like Gun holder, not the gun itself. Thanks anyway

Looks awful but that's how it is. Its basically a gun clip.

Oh right, I see. "Gun pod" actually refers to the rifle/missile launcher (because in Macross that weapon is called a GU-11 gun pod, hence the confusion ).
