Default Comics, where to start ?

    Hi guys

I'm getting into reading comics on Comixology. Can anyone comment on whether the chronological reading order posted on the article below is correct ?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tra...IDW_Publishing)

I've just start Autocracy and see it referencing comics that are much further down the list !

Anyone point me to a better reading order ?

If you take it all as whole it makes no sense.

Marvel G1 and Regeneration 1 is one continuity.
Dreamwave was a separate continuity from that.
IDW the most recent. Autocracy, then Monstrosity. With the most recent stuff start from The Death of Optimus Prime and then RID and MTMTE spin out from that.
Wiki the rest and make decisions on purchases based on that.

I second the start at "Death of Optimus prime" and continue with More than Meets the Eye (MtMtE) and Robots in Disguise (RiD) since that is where we are now at, and already consists of over 40 issues between the two series.

If you like that, go back and start with Infiltration, then follow through with Escalation, Devestation, Revelations, with many of the Spotlight tying into the main stories in one form or another. Then up to you if you continue with All Hail Megatron (AHM) or the ongoing by Costa (which led to Chaos and the Death of Optimus Prime.)

I downloaded MTMTE 1 and quickly decided to get everything else. (as I found out it's rather expensive on Comixology, but I'm happy with it) I started at Infiltration and followed in order of release. There are some things like Megatron Origins that can be read out of release order to be more chronology correct, but in the end it doesn't matter they feel like flash back episodes when reading in release order.

I'm now up to Transformers Ongoing as far as my back issues and I have kept reading the new stuff as it comes out (but I am a little behind on RID).

This is the list I use to know what happened in what order. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/IDW_Generatio...ntinuity#Media

    Thanks everyone !

I finished MtMtE last weekend which is what started me on this journey, but I felt like something different rather than just jumping back into RID.

Looks like Infiltration is the way to go ! Downloading now :-)

If you want to get into the more recent IDW comics (MTMTE & RID) I recommend that you start off by reading Last Stand of the Wreckers and then begin reading The Death of Optimus Prime.

It is also recommended that you read the Chaos volumes of IDW as the above series also takes from it.

Last Stand of the Wreckers and the current IDW stuff from Death of Optimus onwards are essential. Since starting to read MTMTE those plans I had of going back to the earlier IDW hace been completely abandoned.
