Default In which Oberon decides how to burn his money

So, after the announcement of Bombshell, I've decided to get legends class Skrapnel and Tailgate online (wanted Tailgate but on the fence about skrapnel). Now that's good and all, but I also want a Swerve too. I like Swerve so much that I'm willing to go the Maketoys trash-talk and Cogwheel route (I couldn't careless about Gears).

But if I were to go the Legends Swerve route along with Skrapnel, Tailgate and Cosmo (who I'm okay with), it'll be much cheaper, and I like Cosmos a little more than Gears.

I like Trash-Talk a whole lot more than Legends Swerve, but those other factors are nagging me. I'm thinking that either way I go, I'm gonna have some sort of buyers remorse, but I guess to decide the lesser of 2 evils, I want to see what are your opinions guys.

I personally prefer Legends Swerve. The face sculpt on Trash-Talk doesn't look like Swerve enough for me. Hasbro nailed though.

Well, here is a pic with all 3. Clockwise from top-left: IDW Swerve, iGear, Maketoys, Generations. Decide for yourself.

From the pics above and not counting the Igear one which is just being modern G1, neither is perfect and which is best/closest to comic is really open to interpretations.

Looking at the pics, it almost seems as if IDW is really a mixture of both Maketoys and Hasbro.

The maketoys one is probably the superior engineered toy but I feel that the Hasbro one exudes far more personality from a character representation point of view.

I agree with those points. The chest grille and head give a more rotund figure better communicating his jovial nature.
But Maketoys does it for me with the accuracy of his hood, shoulders and legs.

Aren't there two faces for MT Swerve?

My preference is MT for engineering and the personality u can get from his articulation

I can't help but wonder if the more jovial look of Hasbro's Swerve is due to his smoother face. The MT one has a very happy Swerve like expression in person, however his face is unusually sharply defined, the Hasbro face is the smoother thick paint covered face we are all used too, not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing.

I'd have to say I like the MT one best, however the Hasbro version may fit in better with Generations toys with earth alt modes. The Igear one is it's own thing, as more a homage to the toy than the IDW character.

My main dislike of Hasbro's version is that his arms come out of the top of his shoulders, so he is permanently hunched, but overall I like all three for different reasons.
