Printed bricks. I think LEGO made a good descision not going with stickers, as this theme is aimed at kids (more so than other themes) and stickers would have became a mess all over the sets.

I'll be picking up Ultimate Build Mater/Mcqueen and a few other sets on wed/thurs. Hopefully this theme lasts more than a year.

Picked up Ultimate Build Lightning McQueen from Big W today. I was hoping they would have Mater in stock but haven't seen him anywhere. I'm guessing that set will be released later in the year.

The McQueen set is actually pretty good. I've read a lot of complaints about the price/piece ratio, but there's some nice pieces in there and a good mix of colours. The model is nice and solid, although with a few gaps, but really captures the character. Can't wait for Ultimate Build Mater now, and i hope they make a Doc, Sheriff, Fillmore and Flo.

    I give the set 8.5/10.

It's like one of those stories you see on TV: man goes into kmart looking for generations, fails but happens upon a giant lego head he was hunting half a year ago.

Man I've wanted one of them for a while.
Just to display, but I am curious so see how well it works.

It works about as well as it looks. I honestly would have preferred an empty tub to just store bricks en masse.
When stored in a container, bulk lego sorts itself out by size naturally.

They were first sighted at Big W just before Xmas and then at Kmarts not long after but they were very sought after and numbers seemed to have been limited. Perhaps they're bringing them out of cold storage recently? The shelf was pricetagged but the space allocated could have fit 2 of these at the most

My girlfriend got me this for my birthday today, my first lego since I was a kid. She's restarted my craze for lego damn her!
