Default Your TF collecting in 2013

2013 is over, 2014 is here. New Years celebrations are wearing off, but while it's still current it's a good time to reflect on last year.

The awards voting is one way (link in the signature below - shameless plug) but those votes are merged.

So I thought, let's have a bit of a topic.

Here's some suggested questions to get you started:

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
    What was your favourite?
What surprised you and was better than you expected?
    What was your biggest disappointment?
    Did you have any milestones?

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
    About 50 (roughly)

    What was your favourite?
Masterpiece Prowl. Just excellent. A perfect modern version of one of my earliest and beloved TF toys.

What surprised you and was better than you expected?
Generations Sandstorm. I opened him first and while I really like Springer, he'd be second favourite of the year, I found the repaint/tool to be much bettter than I expected.

    What was your biggest disappointment?
Generations Blitzwing. He looked good in the box, but opened up he was just as bad as people said.

    Did you have any milestones?
Need to keep track again of how many I actually have to know if I hit another one.

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
14 (all in December - only just started collecting)

    What was your favourite?
Definitely my masterpieces but I don't think I can choose just one. Each of them has something unique that makes it stand out. If I really had to choose then possibly Lambor/Sideswipe, Streak or Smokescreen.

What surprised you and was better than you expected?
MP-12 Lambor. Had heard a lot of criticism about it but I think it looks great.

    What was your biggest disappointment?
Platinum Grimlock vs Bruticus - The Grimlock just looks so ordinary.

    Did you have any milestones?
Yes to collect all of the masterpiece releases from MP-10 onwards.

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
    319

    What was your favourite?
    MP Soundwave & Metroplex

What surprised you and was better than you expected?
    MP Sunstorm

    What was your biggest disappointment?
MP Acid Storm - Maybe I got a dud but MP Sunstorm is SOOOO much better

    Did you have any milestones?
    G1 Bumper & Fortress Maximus

My goal next year is to complete my G1 collection only 20 or so to go.

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
Not sure exactly, but it would probably have been around 30.

    What was your favourite?
Hard to say for sure, there were several standouts this year. I would have to say MP Soundwave (Hasbro), due to the excitement of finding him amongst the great rush, and what a great toy he is for the price (with all the cassettes). Generations Metroplex (friggin' huge!) and MP Streak (damned sexy alt mode) come a close second and third.

What surprised you and was better than you expected?
Have to agree with Paulbot here, Sandstorm is just great. Springer was as well, mind, but I think Sandstorm trumps him simply because he was retooled and not merely a lazy repaint.

    What was your biggest disappointment?
The small size of Generations Trailcutter. Great toy, but too small. And what is with that name? He's TrailBREAKER for crying out loud.

    Did you have any milestones?
I think I hit a collection count of about 200, but that would have fairly early on in the year. Need to do another head count I think.

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
Give or take 50. I don't count or keep records on purchases. I really need to remedy that...

    What was your favourite?
    MP10B or MP18. It really is 50/50

What surprised you and was better than you expected?
    MP Datsuns.
Reading about them is one thing, but to have them in hand...

    What was your biggest disappointment?
There were a few for me, but if I had to choose one
FoC Grimlock. Words cannot describe the level of fail I feel when i think of this figure.

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013? - 103, or so the spreadsheet tells me.
What was your favourite? - MP-10, my first Masterpiece
What surprised you and was better than you expected? - MP-13, I thought it was just going to be yet another Soundwave until I got it
What was your biggest disappointment? - the Platinum YOTS releases. The only one I really liked was Omega.
Did you have any milestones? - restarted my collecting this year, so thats a pretty big milestone :-)

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
    Don't really know. I'd hazard a guess at 30-ish.

    What was your favourite?
MP Grimlock. It's simplicity and ingenuity reignited my collecting.
But if the question is directed at 2013 releases, it would be ultimate class Predaking.

What surprised you and was better than you expected?
Generations Springer. Didn't think he'd replace Warbot Defender.

    What was your biggest disappointment?
Beast Hunters Shockwave. Completely unnecessary armour and uninspiring transformation.

    Did you have any milestones?
    Not really.
Any figure that comes with swords demands wrist articulation.

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
    Somewhere between 50 - 100

    What was your favourite?
Tough call as there was some quality last year in the MP line.. Would say MP SW, just ahead of MP Prowl

What surprised you and was better than you expected?
Not a new release but I picked up Universe voyager Nemesis Prime and I love this guy, can't put my finger on it but there is something awesome about him

    What was your biggest disappointment?
I see the good in all my acquisitions ha ha

    Did you have any milestones?
I haven't done a count in a loooong time so I will say no I guess

How many TFs did you acquire in 2013?
    Approx. 80

    What was your favourite?
    MP Soundwave.

What surprised you and was better than you expected?
MP Soundwave's engineering -- quite faithful to the G1 toy and yet at a Masterpiece level of design with lots of nice touches.

    What was your biggest disappointment?
    Generations Blitzwing

    Did you have any milestones?
Getting all the MP Datsuns, but my MP Streak and Smokescreen didn't arrive until today, so I guess that doesn't count as a 2013 goal fulfilled. In terms of actually fulfilled goals (other than single acquisitions), I'd say completing TFP Abominus.
