    Default amiami (Japan) feedback

    Hey all,

i can't seem to find any recent feedback on this site, can anyone that has used them let me know what your experience has been like? For example, condition of item, packaging, postage and etc... In addition, do they usually offer any "specials" such as (from an older thread), shipping discounts or discount codes for $XX?

    Thanks!

I've bought from them a few times now and I can vouch for the condition everything arrived in and the promptness of delivery. I've not stumbled upon any coupon codes, but they do have a loyalty points program.

Great for kits, toys is a real Lotto win if they are available for you to add to cart.

What I am saying is they are one of the dead cheapest online store selling most of the toys and kits cheap. Problem is most of their stock is ALWAYS sold out.

Take a look at their smokescreen or Streak for masterpiece and you see them as sold out. There are sometimes you get the lucky occasion where they have stock.

    1. Ordering, make sure you have all your items (in stock) if you want combine ship.
    - if its pre-order there isn't guarantees that using ship by month means everything of that month will be shipped. Give and take get ready for slight inconveniences.

    2. Packaging is okay, like HLJ but slightly thinner box. I am fine with this. Shipping as depending on price and size you may be forced to take EMS for certain goods. Make sure you see what you choose for shipping method.

    3. I have no major issues with them, I only question their stock levels as I think they only bring in 3 pieces or so as people suspected they don't want dead stock in their inventory.

    4. They have point system, so the more you purchase the more points you get and you can use points to reduces your cost i next purchase. Good if you are regular customer.

    hope this helps.

They really need to address their inventory management.
I don't even bother looking there anymore. What's the point when every item i click on is Sold Out? If it's out of stock, mark it as such.

yeah...pretty much, I think Transformers masterpiece is almost doomed on every single piece like Wheeljack etc....

I buy Gunpla from them and it seems like they have more model kits in stock than a toys.

The only other interesting thing is they do have pre-owned items which you may find bargains sometimes but not always.

The site has become extremely popular over the last few years (especially outside of Japan) and the quantity of TF's they stock doesn't seem to have risen to match demand. I havent ordered from them for a couple of years now but they were pretty good.

Mind you, I have stayed for a pre order before and it was over within 2 minutes. I don't get it.

Aside from the extremely small quantities they get for popular items, amiami is all around great. Great prices for both products and shipping (their pre-order prices are generally the lowest across the board), pretty fast dispatch, and decent packing.

Sometimes they have really random back-order for popular items so it's worth to keep an eye out if you did miss anything.

Thanks for the prompt replies . So, in summary, it would seem like they're a all round decent retailer with the biggest issue being stock levels (especially for Transformers).

Guess I'll be ordering my Evangelion stuff here but keep an eye out for Transformer stuff

Used to order from them all the time, but you had to be online at the right time they listed TF pre orders to get a chance to pre order (and like HLJ pre ordering does not guarantee you a toy come shipping time.

Order limit of 3 put me off as well if I was looking at them as a source for my pre order threads at TFNZ
