Wow that looks great!
Congrats, if that's the one the blacklight one it's truly amazing (to me).
I have a question (noob, new to this thread too), are the metal builds new kits? Or enhanced versions of existing ones? (I'm assuming new) i really want to build the 2 astray frames, and some version of strike freedom, preferrably 1/100, and after seeing he pics of the metal build astrays, the one's available locally that i've seen just dont do it for me anymore.
Astray was my first manga I ever bought, wing was the first series I ever watched, SEED is probably my favourite, I've seen UC, started 00, but moved to AGE and 'trying' to keep going with it. I've only ever built one gundam before, back in high school i picked up and SD gundam that could transform/partsform into a normal gundam and I think a type of flying mess, it was good but I never got another one because I didnt understand that there were better grades. Honestly never gave it a thought either, despite many visits to hobby shops, until I saw a large boxed with a large ($300+) PG strike last year in a cube shop in sunnybank.
I figure a few MG kits will keep me busy for longer per $ than modular lego, thinking of 1/100 MG Destiny Gundam ZGMF-X42S to start withand will probably start with a 1/144 Arios or Angel to get my eye in.
Metal build are toys not kits. They are posable and have metal. It is considered Gundam top of the line toys followed by metal composite series by Bandai.
The kits are as follows
Perfect grade: 1/60 scale lots of parts, articulation screws and often light up eyes.
Master grade 1/100 scale, very detailed and is mostly in competition.
RG 1/144 scale, small detailed and realistic kit.
HG HIGH GRADE, comes in various scales and generally cheaper. A lot use these for competition as there are less things to build and paint and is cheap.
like drifand said...metal build aren't kits , but are figure that fully built already , and it has excellent paint detail on them already.....they also 1/100 in scale which fit perfect for the MG kits...
i found the HG too small in scale and is lacking in detail ..around 1hr-2 too build...the new RG are really good but too small as well..around 2-4hrs....1/144
the MG is the way to go around 3-5 hr to build1/100
PG are the best very detailed but they big !! 1/60 and they got heaps of parts that going to take about a week just to build....
