MP G1 Ironhide WIP - Okay, so sick of waiting for Takara

I'm loving the G1 toy-accurate head on that thing ATM!

Kelvin, I don't have the Ironhide bust but I own the Grimlock WW bust and have seen the Starscream and Megatron busts firsthand. The Diamond heads are about 1.5 cm by 1.2 cm on my Grimlock... if that... so I wouldn't hold out by breath on the Ironhide statue being a good avenue.

I seem to recall that the Hard hero busts has slightly larger heads but the only time I've ever seen them first hand was at a collector's house that I bought something from but haven't seen in many moons so I'm not sure how that'd rate.

Thanks STL for the info. I actually went ahead and molded a head myself instead. I found that it is porcelain and it would be pain to do. There is a diamond one coming out that isnt but thats not due till Nov.

Anyway, I didnt really want to cut the statue anyway as its abit of a waste.

I will put the update up in the next few days so that my Ironhide doesnt fall into Gok's comment of the G1 likeness.... hehehe..

Hope the head does it justice. I need to do some sanding and create some new knees for the figure also.

Hi guys,

Here is a new update of Ironhide with a head. Ended up casting my own instead of the bust.






He's still not quite done yet. I am getting a new hand for him and working out a weapon he can hold. I contemplated on the knee and thought that I like it the way it is for the leg. So, I will concentrate on the hand and the weapon first.

After the matrix rejected UM, I guess Ironhide might as well give it a go...

Matrix was the first thing I noticed after I stopped looking at the head.

Thats a mighty fine job you have done with the head sculpt, looks bloody good.

Just finished the weapon. Now that is left is just touch up.

Pulse & Iceburn - thanks for the comment. Regarding the matrix, it comes with a cover so I can cover that up as an accessory if required. However, I like the fact that its see through and since UM did get rejected on this, it may as well be Ironhide.

I_am_trunks - thank you for the comment. I hope I can do better on the next one. Alot of trial and error on this one. Had today off work, so were able to spend some time to finish this off to this point.

Looks kinda Rodimus-ish.

Btw are you going to modify the innerds to lose the MP Prime gut and Matrix? Or is that Ironhidimus Prime? Also, show us the vehicle mode!

Hi Gok,

As per my first post, this is a non-transforming kitbash.

Regarding the matrix, I have a cover for it that can cover it up but I kinda like it the way it is now and have the Ironrodimish feel to it.

Yes, the gun is modded to be held into the hand and its using Rodimus Prime's.
