I dont know why but this figure really appeals to me, maybe ive just always wanted a raptor but I think the overall look of the toy is great, a raptor/beserker type warrior however I will agree some parts of the toy arent designed as well as others. I love the huge shoulder pads and big arms, reminds me of many of the WFC designs that also had a fair amount of bulk.

Beast Wars Dinobot is a much better velociraptor Transformer toy than Slash. A far more realistic beast mode (well... much less inaccurate) and a much more better designed and satisfying toy, especially by 1996 standards, whereas Slash is just dismal by 2014 standards.

Dino mode is okay but in terms of everything else -- transformation ease, poseability, robot mode -- he is so far below the other deluxe Dinobots that it's not even funny. An easy one to skip.

But I congratulate him for being safety conscious enough to wear that bike helmet.

I think we will look back on Slash after the movie comes out and realise he is the first non-screen character we got in the line.

Picked this guy up for half his usual price due to a price scanning snafu at TRU on the weekend. Kinda glad because I get the feeling I may have felt a little ripped paying the full $30 for him.

It's not a bad toy per-se, but it's certainly not great. The colour scheme is a bit full on, the transformation is not hard but not particularly intuitive and I cant say his robot mode or his feathers turning into weird club thingies are particularly impressive. That said, his dino mode is ok (like they went out of the way to make him the missing link between dinosaurs and birds), the head of his robot mode looks good and the head of the raptor looks awesome - so angry & evil with a mouthful of chompers!

I'd recommend picking Slash up if like me you are A: Getting a full set of the AoE Dinobots, and/or B: You can find him for $15 like I did

I get the feeling you may be right. Either way, I reckon they could/should have made this toy a commander or Legion class size, then people might have a chance of buying the Dinobot toys in a relatively realistic scale with each other based on the dinosaurs they are modeled on. But then Strafe has got two heads so that has thrown the chance of making these robotic transforming dinosaurs from an alien planet in any way realistic anyway

I really think so far Slash is the weakest Dinobot figure.

Having said that I still have him

I got mine today. I must say I quite like it. I turned the feathers on his knees around as they were annoying me. Better figure than I was expecting.

The weakest part is definitely the legs. I've turned the waste around then turned the legs back around so that the feathers on his knees are behind his knees. Looks so much better. If the colours were not so bright, the figure would be liked a lot more I think.

I was a little unsure about this guy at first, but now I have it in hand I actually really like it! The transformation is very different to what we're used to and there's more to it than a lot of the other figures.

    I would definitely recommend it.
