Nah they are more common then that when you count forums and YJP, just thought i would see if anyone was thinking of letting their set go

Oh I know eBay isn't the only place you can turn to; using it as a sample. But yeah they were produced in small numbers during the death throes of Japanese G1.

Rarity explains a lot of it. They were very late in the Japanese G1 line; so the numbers were small to begin with, Megatran. Their Actionmasters, if you will.

They were only sold as giftsets, too.

Just how rare are we talking about? Is there an official limited number?

I've started collecting Bruticus (Ruination) G1 mold repaints but as Sinnertwin said, the stupendous asking price means that I'll have live on one lung to get this Giftbox set.
