Change of topic slightly, has anyone had experience with the transformable model kits they sell? The detailing seems to be quite nice, and the price a lot cheaper than the toys - i imagine they're flimsier.. but are they worth it?
This new VF-25F looks nice is all
Well they're kits you have to glue and paint together. I prefer those to the toys because all they're going to do is sit on my shelf. The Hasegawa kits are superb (I'm building a VF-1 at the moment) but a little bit fiddly.
I'll probably pick up the VF-25 later too.
Is the glueing and painting necessary or does that vary between kits?
I'm not sure where the Destroid Tomahawk comes from either, but here's a link to the Yamato site. He certainly seems well-armed!
I think both of those Hikaru VF-1S releases will have the same head, and that is to say, the same as the Focker VF-1S? As seen here Someone please correct me if i'm wrong!
edit: not sure if i misunderstood your question
VF-1S = 4 antennas
VF-1J, VF-1D = 2 antennas
VF -1A = 1 antenna
:You are correct. Here's a quick guide to VF-1 Valks.
1A = 1 head laser, J = 2 head lasers, S = 4 head lasers.
According to Macross lore the differences represent levels of improvement as far as the airframe is concerned. Also the 'newer' variants are usually for commanders/veterans with the 1A being the earliest and most common 'cannon fodder' type. Much the same as a Modern Airforce I suppose...
Oh yea, it's a warhammer. Sweet. So what does the defender look like? Is it similar to this (rifleman):

And in that 2nd link, is that what the coming 1/60's look like?
Code:O o _ / -------------------------------- | IMMA FIRIN MA LAZAR!!! \_--------------------------------
Yep it's necessary, it's mostly all gray or white plastic. Is the glueing and painting necessary or does that vary between kits?
I think this is a prototype of the Destroid Defender
Yep, that is the new VF-1.. as well as here, here and here! If you can't tell, i've been drooling over these shots for a while now
What kind of paints would you use gamblor? I'm clearly a novice at this, have never done any model painting... but i've developed an interest in pursuing Gundam model building as well. Are the materials easily available in Australia? Boy it was depressing seeing wall-to-wall Gundams and craft materials in Japan only to come back to a dearth of it in Perth.
