So all you do is just take several still photos of a figure while moving it a little bit for each one?

I have tried to make a quick trial video of a figure walking using Movie Maker but the software doesn't seem to have support for frames shorter than 1.2secs as a result it looks cluncky as hell.

Click on the icon that looks like magnifying glass with a + sign in it then use your mouse to reduce the duration of each frame. You can click on that magnifying glass icon several times and reduce frame durations more and more.

I've made all my stop-motion animations using Windows Movie Maker.

Transformers Hare Hare Yukai Dance - IMO the best of my stop motions. Also the hardest to make (took me 5 days and over 400 shots).

I made a video of Star Saber walking across my computer desk and because I hand held the camera for each frame pic it looks as shaky as a Michael Bay film but it worked!
