A really nice Drift toy. The shape and articulation of this figure is the most ideal for dynamic martial arts like posing, which of course suits the character. Giving it two swords which can both attach to his left thigh armour is also a really nice touch. It also means that this Drift can store his weapons in robot mode in the most samurai-accurate manner. The sculpting is also really nice, evoking that samurai armous aesthetic. My main criticism of this toy would be the colours. Why orange? G1 Bludgeon homage? It's Drift! Maybe he's also the Autobot's on site WH&S supervisor. Drift has a mustache and beard sculpted on his face, but it fails to adequately stand out because it's not painted. I suspect that TakaraTOMY might be making their Drift a black beard (which would be more show like too), I don't know. Unfortunately he doesn't come with his two Mini-Cons.

Overall: a nice toy that's somewhat let down by a gaudy colour scheme and lack of paint apps on his face.

I hope Takara Tomy include the Minicons in their TAV release so I don't have to buy a second Drift to get both this mould and the Minicons.
I have a list of all G1 characters that have been released in CHUG form. You can find it here. Please feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong so I can fix it.

I like how the swords are stowed on his left hip.

Hasbro are making a 'Deployer Class' which includes Drift and Fracture witch will be able to launch Mini-Cons, they will come with one and then Mini-Con Class Boosters will be avaliable

Judging from images, the Deployer looks to be a greatly simplified version of the Warrior Class figure.

I'll probably get the Deployer, but then again, I get my RiD stuff for 'free'*. I personally wouldn't pay for it (unless it was significantly discounted).
