Prime example (pun intended) the first edition Optimus from AOE on the box has alot of flashy chrome, whilst the figure itself is very grey (may need some cheering up).

But then the same figure was released with the reverse flames and flashy chrome with the trailer, this should've been how the figure should've looked like from the word get go.

So basically Hasbro has these "glamour" versions of their toys for their promotional photography which is different from the final product. Come to think of it, one hand of my CW Scavenger is a different shade of green from the rest of the toy. I got my CW Devastator from Big W, but my Scavenger came with two of the same side hand. I couldn't find another CW Devvie anywhere to do an exchange at the time, so the next time I visited Hasbro I just asked if I could swap hands with their display Devvie's Scavenger hand, and they happily allowed it. I figured that it must've been some running change between when Hasbro AU received their sample to show off to retail buyers and when the product was actually released - which may be true - but perhaps it may also be because they wanted a version that looked different in promotional photos. <shrugs>
