Since mine is going to be permanently displayed in combined mode, I care not for elbows I'm not fussed about the additional paint apps either as the Hasbro version looks more uniform IMO and closer to the animation art. For all those people now passing on the Hasbro release, thank you You have increased my chances of picking one up

I was absolutely prepared to pick up the Hasbro release this week, and was feeling pretty damned excited about it. Then I heard about the improvements that the Takara release was going to have, and it sent me spiralling into a pit of uncertainty. If I'm going to drop $200 on a toy, why wouldn't I wait for the best release? Now seeing those pictures, you know what I realise?

I don't give a damn about Scrapper's elbows. I Just want that thing inside me my house.

I do care about individual robot mode as you may not be able to display all combined in a cabinet, also will make my mp section with more decepticons

I don't believe it. When have Popcultcha ever stocked anything at a cheaper price than big retailers? And an import to boot?

Is there a comprehensive list of differences between the Hasbro and Takara versions anywhere? I'm having trouble deciding.

Changes for the Takara version: Bonecrusher has purple inside his treads for the combined mode. Long Haul and Scrapper have elbow joints. The six bots come with their own guns. Mixmaster's Devastator foot has been made to look more like the G1 version. Some different/additional paint apps.

Oh almost forgot. Takara's has a swappable eye gimmick allowing Devastator to have two eyes or a visor.

I did see a photo comparison over the weekend but google is not helping me find it again.

    Cool, thanks.

Are Takara Devastator's hands purple rather than Hasbro's black, too?
