Using a box cutter only takes a few seconds.
Alternatively you could just collect Japanese versions of the toys, as they rarely use blisters glued on cards. Japanese Transformers are either boxed, or if they are carded, the blisters have tabs which wrap around the card and are secured by sticky tape. You just cut through the tape, untab the blister and then slide the card out.
Just picked up DOTM Guzzle from the post office. Slightly smaller than I expected, but still pretty awesome.
