RE: Hasbro Pulse Con '22 reveals
NEEEEDLENOOOSE!!!
Yass! Now we will be able to collect the last G1 Decepticon Targetmaster in CHUG! The Combiner Wars one was a BotCon/Club exclusive; but so happy to see one being done for mass retail release! Legacy Pointblank is coming soon too, so now all we need to complete the G1 Targetmasters in CHUG are Landfill, Quickmix and Sureshot. Make it happen!
I'll definitely be grabbing Tarn, Breakdown, Scraphook and Lio Convoy (are they calling him Leo Prime?). Somewhat surprised to see that Breakdown isn't a retool of Dead End. Not sure how I feel about the car bonnet pointing upwards on the back instead of down.

I have a list of all G1 characters that have been released in CHUG form. You can find it here. Please feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong so I can fix it.
Quake could do with a better CHUG toy, especially one that's not a Headmaster (preferrably also a double Targetmaster like Scoop and Needlenose). But yeah, he's already done in CHUG. I'd rather Hasbro focus their attention on the remaining G1 characters who haven't received any 21st Century updates before revisiting paths already walked.![]()
I've gotta say, for all that he's a Headmaster instead of a Targetmaster, TR Quake is a really nice toy. The mold and the colour scheme work well for him. I gave him Combiner Wars First Aid's axe for a dual-weapon setup and it really fits with his berserker characterisation.
Yeah I'm in the camp of Quake getting a better figure. Skipped the Headmaster version... however in a showing of rare agreement with Gok, he's probably a character I can wait for and put behind releases of other forgotten G1 characters.
My non-BW/BM CHUG collection count is now on 499. Curious to see who number 500 is gonna be.![]()
I was wondering just how many G1 Transformers are there. I normally only think about Anglophone G1 for obvious reasons, but I was thinking about how many G1 TFs there would be if I included those released outside the Anglosphere (i.e. Japanese and Latin American). And the answer I came up with was 600.
Notes
+ I did not count variants (red and yellow Cliffjumper are just Cliffjumper)
+ I did not double-count identical toys that represent different characters (e.g. Getaway and Lightfoot)
+ I did count repaints/retools of the same toys that represent the same character. e.g. Hot Rod and Targetmaster Hot Rod are separate counts, as are Soundwave and Soundblaster etc.
Yes, yes, yes, I know that these are entirely subjective parameters, but they're the rules I set for myself for this count.

So for me, I have a...
95% complete Anglo G1 collection
42% complete Japanese G1 collection (admittedly most of these are reissues)
0% complete Latin American G1 collection
-------------------
81% complete G1 collection
I was just thinking about repaints of the G1 SS figures. Given how many smaller run repaints and exclusives Hasbro like to churn out these days it seems odd to me we haven't seen any sign of repaints like Action Master Jazz and Starscream or G2 Dinobots that are major departures from their normal G1 animation model and toy colouring.
It might not be a tonne of money, but there is some money being left on the table.
I have a list of all G1 characters that have been released in CHUG form. You can find it here. Please feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong so I can fix it.
