I am a bit surprised that he actually criticise the paint job this time as he was quite bias in quite a fair few of his reviews on other toys. Have to give thumbs up again for an honest review this time round.

I haven't watched his review.. but i got mine today and found the paint overall to be very good. Very similar to Ironhide just white! I think white does show up blemishes a little more.. i did find one tiny globby bit on a side panel of the car, but other than that, flawless.

He's pretty great! I love the tinted windows, looks very medicinal if not quite realistic. Both face sculpts are good, and his face stays securely in place better than Ironhide. Ratchet was definitely blessed with a better looking crotch as well! Cutting out the stickers was easy, though they're a bit thicker than i'd like, they're glossy and look good once they're on.

Slowly filling out the gaps... Wheeljack looks like he finally has some good company now!

I tend not to watch his reviews, but found it interesting about the paint chipping as i've not heard about it with Ironhide.

Yeah, i've noticed the stickers look rather thick -- it's definitely noticeable in Alfes2010's gallery:

I suppose on the plus side, it does give a bit of depth to the whiteness of his shoulders -- but i'll definitely be leaving mine blank when I get my copy.

Hmm Alfes left a stack of white edge which would always look bad. I cut mine right up to the red so it's not nearly as noticeable. Only certain angles where the light hits it will you notice they're not tampo'd

I've noticed a few shots where others have left the whitespace as well -- probably not comfortable with cutting that close to the red (my scissor skills are horrible, so I can relate! ).

    There's no issue.
From what Ive seen, the way the shoulders are assembled in both doesn't impact transformation etc at all.
It just depends if you want to look at a ratchet joint in the shoulder or not.

    That's all it is.
    Ratchet's is the clean look, Ironhide's isn't.

Weird, Ironhide had his shoulders misassembled all the way through prototypes to release and noone at TT noticed? According to the labels inside each piece, Ironhide is the one that's correct... but the way they are on Ratchet clearly looks better! Anyway i switched my Ironhide's shoulders around, a quick 5 minute fix (no pins!)... and not only does it look better, but now their shoulders can square up which they couldn't do before.
