Yep. I applaud the man for giving it a crack, but realistically he's got next to no chance.

There's a guy that sits near me at work and he's the epitome of the aussie bogan and a big fan boy (read: homer) of Jarryd Hayne. Every time he (Hayne) gets a mention in the news, he walks up to me all proud and chest puffed out saying 'see, I told you he would make it'. Made what you idiot? It's a futures contract, he hasn't made the squad. Come and see me in September when he suits up for the Lions and plays a down then we'll talk

Oh I don't salute Hayne. I salute the editor who put that footage in at the end of the video. I give him props for trying but I think it is arrogance on his part too. My brother seems to think Hayne will make it and as much as my brother is an idiot he does know his NFL. I don't think Hayne has a chance. He can't play structured enough for NFL. I also don't think he can handle the shots he will take from the defence. I can't see him being too keen to take one up the middle right into the D-Line.

That being said I expect a big influx of Lions merch to hit our shores

Well, you know what, I would love for that to happen if it increases the chances of the 49ers coming out here for a preseason game. We haven't had one since 1999 when Jim Harbaugh (ex-49ers Head Coach) was the QB for the Chargers and Pat Summerall (the BEST commentator in all of sports EVER - RIP) graced our fine shores. Oh, and who could forget Shannon 'Want Some Whine With That Cheese' Sharpe

Holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!! I honestly don't know what to do with myself after reading this news. Seeing a 9ers game live has been top of my bucket list for over 20 years. The only opportunity I ever had was the same year mum got sick and passed away so OS travel wasn't really an option.

Oh man, now I have to decide which of my 12 jerseys I'm gonna wear on the day (and no, I don't have or will buy a no. 38 jersey).

While I'm not going to say "I told you so" to anyone, my concern is what this means for televised games on 7mate for the remainder of the season and the preseason game that was announced for Oz next year (although not 100% officially confirmed). There's still a chance he clears waivers and comes back on the practice squad. We'll know in the next 48 hrs. I would be genuinely surprised if he gets picked up by another team before then. If he does, it would be purely be a marketing move to get all the Aussie fans on board because he's just too inexperienced to make any difference almost half way into the season.
