Good news but not so good news is the epic kick in the guts Optus has given us by hogging most of the matches.

Optus are lucky it’s not Singapore, they fine broadcasters when they do not air what they are charging people for.

Optus drew enough ire and criticism when they snatched the EPL and put it behind a double paywall. Lost even more credibility by not having the ability to handle the load.

It’s beyond me how Australian companies and government departments are unable to create any site or online service that can actually do what it is meant to do and handle the traffic it is meant to handle.

TBH that's the most galling part of the Optus response to this, which was basically 'yeah we've done an investigation and it turns out that our paid subscription service shat itself because of the amount of people logging on to use it'.

It's the f***ing World Cup. What did they expect?

(tortured simile) It's like selling 50,000 tickets to a game in a stadium that can only hold 30,000 people, and then acting surprised when everyone actually shows up to enjoy the service that they've paid for.

Oh how it makes me happy to see Brazil bundled out of Russia 2018. That means again they've been denied a sixth World Cup for their mantelpiece.
But here are the positives they can draw from this:

    1. They didn't have to meet their bogey team (France).

    2. They didn't receive a 7-1 hiding.
