Great review Kurdt! Love your write up and explanation of your impressions. The pics are fantastic too. Can't wait to get mine in hand. Only a couple more weeks now....

Can anyone tell me what the pre-order price for Shockwave was at Premium Collectables or other pre-order sites? Cheers!

First round at PC was $150, second round was $170.

I still remembered I paid only $125 for this. Now that Kurt has described the "cheap plastic" I am actually on the fence whether to sell it at a profit and move on or just "get over it" move on and display it.

On the other hand, I expected this type of quality from TT. If for me, if I was granted one correction for this toy, it will be trading the paint app over the led lights which I know I wont be bothered "pew pew pew" once in my cabinet.

I think is easier to complain about this toy if you have Quakewave and you start comparing and contrast. Some will not agree that they are different toys. Luckily for me, I don't own 3p toys yet.

I think it is easier for TT to get away with plastic purple which is still acceptable than a dull plastic grey/silver Megatron like what Starscream is.

You say it's "easier to complain about this toy if you have Quakewave..." but you seem to find it fairly easy to complain despite not having either Quakewave or this MP.

Maybe hold off on your (virtually inevitable) displeasure until you actually have the toy and can make an informed judgement?

Nice review Kurdt! I'm looking forward to boosting my MP collection's Decepticon ranks.

I have NOT complain. That is all.
I have shockwave, deciding whether I want to open, which I am basing on Kurt's review. Thanks

    Nice review Kurdt.

I'm hangin' out for Trent's review in comparison to the purple hairdryer.

Maybe what i said came across a little wrong. I said in hand it feels a little cheap - but it's not necessarily the plastic, but i think the colour has a lot to do with that.

Firstly the colour itself just looks more plasticy than that of Soundwave, whose dark blue hides the plastic look a little. And by (cartoon) design, Shockwave just doesn't have as many colours, whereas Soundwave has dabs of red and gold to break up the blue and silver. Shockwave is pretty much entirely shades of purple, so can look a little monotone (with his voice, maybe that was the intent all along!)

The plastic itself is consistent with Ironhide, Hot Rod and Road Rage - it's pretty strong but with a high gloss and smooth surface, so it might not be what you're after knowing what you've said in the past. But the construction is solid and the joints (mostly ratchets) are good, no doubt about that.

I just weighed Shockwave (327g) and Soundwave (328g). The AAA batteries weigh 24g, but even without them they're closer than you'd think, given the apparent size difference.
