While I acknowledge the good sculpting and great vehicle mode, the flaws I think really detract from the figure, and as such I think other, such as the Hulk, would be preferable over it

I got Iron Man and Hulk today, as they were on sale at Big W.
I must say I really enjoy these toys.I even appreciate the Bio for Iron Man hinting at how much of a Jerk Tony Stark is. I can't wait for Thor and Cap.
Some Villains and the rest of the FF would be nice tho.
On that subject does any have ideas as to what future Characters they want and what alt modes they would have?

decided to grab Iron man and Spiderman yesterday, and while not perfect they're kinda cool. In my imagination it will be Marvel characters who's consciousness's are transported into Cybretronian bodies, which then format themselves to suit their new personalities.

Hulk n Venom I may just pick up now.... Are there pics of upcoming figs?
i do NOT Play with toys...

But I DO occasionally do scale model assisted simulations in physical fight dynamics.

Is that a "wow how awesome" or a "wow I can't beleive that got past the concept stage"

The robot and alt mode for the wave 3 figures is fine and dandy, but the paints apps are so goddamn horrendous especially on cap and Thor.

Guess to have decent looking paint apps on robot mode the payoff is terrible alt mode paint apps.

Picked up Wolverine and Human Torch over the weekend. VERY impressed by both. I think Wolverine has an excellent transformation and gimmicks as well as a solid robot mode. Human Torch is another great jet. Sure, not traditional robot looking but a very solid toy all round with far less of the inherent problems in most TF jets.

The biggest disappointment with the figures I found was the quality of plastic. It to me feels cheaper than standard TFs

This is about Star Wars Transformers which has been lumped into the TF Crossovers line with Marvel - so I'm posting it here. If mods feel that it should be in a separate thread then feel free to split.

I got TIE Pilot/TIE Bomber yesterday - my first SWTF with no pilot (yet I paid an additional $1.80 (+-_-)). The toy has no pilot. It has a cockpit in TIE Bomber mode but not in robot mode - so unlike other SWTFs it doesn't appear to have been designed to hold a pilot figurine in both modes. There's a small cavity in the chest that might be able to hold a pilot, but it looks too small and I don't think it was designed/intended to be a pilot's compartment.

Anyway - one complaint that people have had about some SWTFs (e.g.: Jedi Starfighters) is the way that the robot modes and transformations have been compromised to cater for the pilot. So you'd think that when you remove that from the equation that you'd be able to engineer a Star Wars Transformers on par with the standards of most other Transformers - perhaps even on par with Marvel Transformers like Iron Man (using him as a comparison as he's the only Marvel TF I have) - right?

Nope! Despite the greater amount of freedom granted to HasTak engineers by removing the need to house a pilot in both modes, I find TIE Pilot/TIE Bomber to be poorly engineered, even compared to other Star Wars Transformers. Darth Vader/TIE Advanced is a much better toy than this one. There are three panels which don't seem to have any locking mechanism in robot mode, so they just dangle as loose kibble. And the alignment of the elbows/forearms to shields is awkward and one in an unrealistic position.

The vehicle mode is reasonably well done. I can appreciate that it is a very ambitious vehicle to do - we know that aircraft is always hard to do, and TIE fighters are quite difficult. They've obviously chosen the TIE Bomber because it's bulkier than a regular TIE Fighter and thus has more to work with in terms of hiding a robot inside the vehicle - and it does a reasonably decent job. The missile launcher is very... crap.

Disappointed. It's not the worst SWTF - IMO that would still have to be General Grievous/Wheelbike... but yeah, it's below average compared to other SWTFs.
