Cheetor. Transformed and played with him, Dinobot, Rhinox and Wolfgang a thousand times as a young teenager. Liked them all individually; Dinobot for its alt mode and chompy chomp jaw; Rhinox for its bulk; and Wolfgang for his sweet crossbows and smooth plastic; but Cheetor comes out on top with his clean transformation, sturdy joints, sturdy 2 modes, and I can even love the cat guts on his water cannon. Also bought them with my lunch money, which has the added special significance of teaching me how to budget and save. Still got vague memories of seeing it in TRU Parramatta, with only a few silver coins in my hands, and thinking how in Satan's holy hell am I ever going to get a hold of eighteen big ones.

I don't think I actually have a favourite deluxe in the original line, they were all decent but in my mind they were outshone by the larger toys, and even the smaller toys for value. It's one of the few times I can recall that Deluxes weren't the be all and end all of the line.

If I had to choose, I suppose it would be Tarantuals or Cheetor, but both always seemed quite flawed to me even without the cartoon influence. I always liked Manterror but never owned him.
