So long as it doesn't involve trespassing or any other illegal activity, so be it. People have been seen running onto freeways and other far more serious/dangerous areas chasing pokemon, so while it can be seen as inappropriate, I think walking through museums/graveyards/etc is the least of our concerns.

Personally, I think the game should use it's GPS tracking to block itself from working whenever it detects movement of over say 20km/h, that way people can't use it while driving - this is becoming the most serious problem atm.

Yeah the amount of people I see showing up to pokestops in cars is amazing. I just hope they arent trying to catch them whilst driving too...

The problem is that it would be very difficult, i imagine, to program the game to prevent pokemon showing up inside buildings. I think people should just use commonsense and a bit of etiquette. I don't see an issue with a museum being a Pokestop (generally the location is outside such as out the front). If anything it is attracting people to the area who may be willing to go inside, not to hunt pokemon but to actually see the site they are there for.

I know I have seen some interesting artwork throughout Surry Hills that I never would have seen if not for this game.

I've been having good fun with this when I am in a larger city for work, around home there isn't much to go after. I've been able to get to the wharf when lures were active so I could catch some water pokemon and at work I can sit on a PokeStop all day getting XP
    - and just as I was leaving someone added a lure to that PokeStop and I managed to get some very high CP Pokemon and some new additions to the team.

Sadly what seems common in one area of the world is very rare in another

I managed to get it on my phone here in Japan, but I don't think its properly released yet.

No pokemon around except in the areas near gyms., None near my house, which I find odd. Surely there's some kind of programming behind how the pmons are distributed. ALthough I am concerned about the effect it will have on people roaming around looking for them.

There's enough people to get in my way normally, without me having to push through ppl looking for pokemon.

On a tech side, I am rather fascinated by the application (was never really into pokemon that much), but the AR camera thing is cool, and I bet the people making it will be making lotsa cash. I'm sure companies could pay to have their site as a poke-whatever and they'll make some good bucks.

    Interesting times....

Somebody told me they made $10 billion in 3 days.

Like any free-to-play app there's an option to buy the in-game money in bundles costing 5, 10, 50, 100 etc...

Had more fun just sitting at work and collecting things when I could - people using lures on PokeStops I can hit while at my desk is awesome.

Just cleaned up my caught Pokemon list and have figured out what I can evolve to get to the next evolution, and what I can evolve purely to gain XP for my human character so he can go up a level
So next time I am a) next to a lure b) have time, I will a) set of a lucky egg, b) set of incense and go forth and see what happens

My walking egg hatches are sadly not producing any decent/new Pokemon for the collection and my supply of 10KM eggs has been replaced by 2KM which are not giving me the starter Pokemon or Pikachu!

Hopefully the weekend I can get to a different area of the city and see what I can find ..

The Japanese version is still the Beta AFAIK.

Question: with the Australian version, are you forced to use the dub names or can you also set it to use the original Japanese names? I know that I asked this question 3 days ago, but I didn't notice any response (although admittedly I'm not reading every post on this thread, so apologies if someone's already answered it and I just haven't noticed )

P.S.: RE: The story about people catching Pokémon in a Holocaust museum.
Apparently the Pokémon that someone acquired at the museum was Dogars (ドガース), who apparently attacks by using poison gassing.

...I actually know someone who's a Holocaust survivor too... (-_-)

Had some time to fill before a movie tonight so wandered outside to some pokestops. It's a bit weird walking around a dark park looking for Pokemon, but also fun. Saw a group of three at the local park on my way home all looking at their phones so sure they were playing too.

Yes you are "forced" to use the "dub" names. Nobody in the English-speaking world cares about the Japanese names and it's never an option in the games for English-speaking audiences. If you use names like Dogars (instead of Koffing) we don't know what you're talking about
