Silver Transformers coins from the New Zealand Mint
On display at the Sydney Oz Comic Con last week was a Silver coin by the New Zealand Mint, with a release date of October 1st... and now it is on their website for sale.
It is a 1 ounce coin of pure silver, with a face value of just NZ$2, but it's sale value based on the amount of silver in it, is noted as us$99. It also lists several other currencies, which changes based on the exchange rate of the US Dollar... so at the moment, it is about au$158.
The site says the price includes shipping worldwide, just not to PO Boxes, as a signature is required.
There are 3,000 produced, with a 4cm diameter, and comes in a really nice Gen1 themed box. (there is a sticker of authenticity on the back - the sample in Sydney didn't have one on it)
The coin itself will be one of the last to be minted with Queen Elizabeth on the back.

This round pure silver coin features Optimus Prime in full colour, as seen in the 1984 series The Transformers. The Transformers logo and the year 1984 have been engraved and frosted, and a mirror-finish background makes the silver shine. To confirm the coin as legal tender, the obverse displays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth ll.
Officially licensed, this prime piece is held inside an acrylic capsule, to ensure easy transporting of your coin while protecting it from The Decepticons! It is then nestled in black velvet inside a high-quality box, that features The Transformers-themed imagery. Printed on the back is a Certificate of Authenticity and the coin’s unique number in the limited mintage of 3,000.
