    IIRC, it was also limited stock.

    $160-200 would be fair range after-sales and low end of retail for Trypticon. Really depends on whether it is as hollow as Metroplex, and considering that none of the other Titan Class figs has been re-released at the retail level. Not valuing the top end of the range more than Devastator because between the two, Devastator will likely have more parts (assuming there isn't a huge difference in difficult when moulding big or small pieces of plastic) and require a lengthier assembly time.

    Also don't mind if they separate the figure into 2/3/4 parts to save on carton form/void during shipping.

    The short tail also makes sense for shelf/wall storage. Sure the tail could move laterally but it is pretty obably easier to leave that out than accomodate it in the transformation. If a shorter tail makes him closer to Metroplex height, then bring it!

    Which is actually a really good price as it was actually cheaper than the US RRP! How often does that ever happen?

    I preordered from Amazon USA and paid US$115, and with postage it worked out to be about AU$175 because I thought for sure that this toy would be sold here for well above US RRP which is what usually happens with Transformers here. But much to my surprise and delight of local fans who hadn't ordered online, the toy worked out to be really well priced here. Sure, Target's introductory price was fantastic, but even the standard price was still really good for this toy. TR Fort Max's AU RRP was just stupidly expensive though.

    The most I've ever paid for a single Transformer was $300, but that was literally for:
    * G1 Fortress Maximus
    * Brave Maximus (incl. shipping)
    * Encore Fortress Maximus (incl. shipping)
    The second most expensive purchase I've ever made was $219 for reissue Trypticon.

    I don't think it was especially limited. Larger and more expensive toys are always produced in smaller numbers and thus will always be more limited than smaller and cheaper toys. That's always been the case. But I do remember seeing Metroplex sitting on shelves for quite some time after Target's introductory sale price ended and it shelfwarmed at dearer retailers like Myer.

    Do we have an indication of release beyond "this year"? He looks perfect. With the rumoured Dinobots from somewhere, full call of the primitives over here.

    I was referring to the stock being limited during the introductory price. However, this could have just been the stock levels at the Target I picked mine up at (Rhodes). I made a mad rush there on a Thurs night as soon as the intro price was announced/sighted.

    I skipped the several sales for Fortress Maximus thinking that he may end up in Costco at a dirt cheap price 2-3 months after release. Oh well, one less massive robot to worry about
