    The shorter tail may be indicative that this toy has superior balance to G1 Trypticon completely relies on the tail to remain upright when standing and walking. G1 Trypticon is very much a tail dragger, which is technically incorrect for a dinosaur (and remember that Trypticon's name in Japan is Dinosaurer ).

    Good call! I can't think of any other redeco potential. Scorponok would be impossible because the design is completely different. Although a Titan Class Scorponok could be redecoed as Double Punch.

    Double Punch and Black Zarak (with some retooling)

    'Nuther great call. Although I doubt they'd do it considering that we still don't have a CHUGUR Metro Titan or Grand Maximus.

    Seemed like the perfect choice for conventions to homage. However I don't think it's a great idea as a general release. If they did started releasing these obscure reuses at retail then it could get real silly real quick - like TF Zone Nine Great Demon Generals Trypticon with exclusive Roman Armour and Shield?

    The Nine Generals gear would actually be a neat thing for a third party company to pick up on.

    Might be difficult to get off the ground, even for third party collectors For cartoons, seems like the further away from the original Sunbrow G1 series, the harder it is to find someone who's watched those cartoons and hence willing to whip out the cash for nostalgia.

    Don't want to derail the topic, but Fansproject's Saurus (not-Dinoking) had the innerbots and dino shells sold separately because the size and cost of the shells was too much. Using them as an example as their size/price has always been consistently moderate. If your fingers are itchy.. click here.

    I know that but your argument would have more weight if either Trypticon looked anything like a dinosaur, instead Trypticon looks like Godzilla whose got a big ol tail.

    Well considering the biggest ever dinosaur was still smaller in mass than a blue whale, and Trypticon is maybe a mile or two tall, I reckon he could pick Godzilla up in one claw and bite his head off After all, in most movies Godzilla is not much bigger than a skyscraper and Trypticon is toting two of those on his shoulder blades no probs

    It looks awesome. Unfortunately it will inevitably cost $350+ when it's released over here and I have better things to spend that money on. But if someone buys one for me I won't be upset.

    Metroplex and Devastator were actually quite reasonably priced here. Metroplex ended up going really cheap at Target. Fortress Maximus was ridiculously expensive when it first came out in stores like Myer and it continues to shelfwarm there as well as TRU, but other stores like Big W released it at a much cheaper price and it managed to sell better there. PC's price was even cheaper than Big W's, although the toy did come out later from them (no surprise there). So there's a fair chance that Trypticon and other future Titan Class figures may come out here at decent prices.

    I personally paid...
    * Metroplex = approx. $175 (purchased from overseas incl. shipping)
    * Fortress Maximus = $160
    * Devastator = $198

    I wouldn't even pay $300 for a Titan Class let alone $350!

    ======================
    Edit: Just checked my records - I paid US$115 for Metroplex, so including shipping it was around AU$175
