I second MadWorld. Tremendous fun. Those visuals are mindblowing and the violence. Dear god the over the top violence! Won't somebody please think of the children!

Thorouhgly enjoying it so far. Although the bosses have been fairly easy.

As for the update. It didn't kill the Homebrew Channel and still works fine. But a big thanks from Nintendo for finally giving us a good storage solution.

MadWorld is excellent. However I can see it getting a bit repetitive. Great for short bursts. Nothing more satisfying then then spearing four to five sign posts in an enemies head and watch him waddle around.

I'm up to the first stage of Mad Castle. Ugh those grim reapers on skates are sure annoying.

I'm glad it doesn't kill the HBC but even if it did I wouldn't be worried The team would probably find a work around in a few days like they did with the 3.4 update.

I havent updated for because I like the HB channel. It doesn't kill the channel, but can you add new apps to it? Or do you have to stick with the ones you have?

Final question, did anyone on 3.4 have it auto-update or did it ask for permision to update.

I am waiting for Madworld....Cmon Aust post......

    Wiiii!

Madworld violently killed my postman by shoving his bike up his bumb and throwing him on the road! WOW! What a game! Love the look, but dont think I could crank it all night. My only quibble so far is that it is really too easy to accidentally throw something with a minute shake of the wiimote when you dont want too...

But LOVE the way that people can be killed! So far my fave is grating them down as a train goes by. Risky, but awesome. They also handled the chainsaw arm wuite well. I was thinking some kinda lame evil dead guy thing where its always there, but it aint. Sweet! Gonna put down Tenchu for a bit and get this one cranking now!!

Weird thing though. When I put the game in, it had the update thing come up. I thought it was goig to go to 4.0 and thought they had managed to bung that onto the disc quickly (It was first reported as a Korean update about a week ago). So I tried going throught he Gecko loader, which I think bypasses the update on discs, but it crahsed.

    So I updated.

    From 3.4 to 3.4

Wait a sec? WTF? I am certain I was on 3.4 before and now the system says 3.4E (not sure about the E or not for the last one). Odd

The Korean release was just 3.5, and doesn't contain the new SD transfer feature (or the others). The disc updates can be full firmware, game specific updates or just a check of some sorts i think... Wikipedia article .. doesn't mention Madworld specific updates tho.

E3 is on. I know a few of us here have Tatsunoko VS. Capcom and one of the announcements was that it's getting an English release. Now why would we get this again when it's perfectly playable in Japanese? Well ...

    http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3...unoko-vs/49941

SAN MATEO, CA — June 2, 2009 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is coming to North America for the Wii™ home video game system. Capcom’s popular and critically acclaimed ‘VS’ fighting series is getting an all new next-generation introduction. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom pits Capcom’s iconic characters against Tatsunoko Productions anime superheroes. This clash of heroes face off in two-on-two battles for the ultimate 2D tag-team battle.

Originally released in Japanese arcades in the Fall of 2008, the original Tatsunoko vs. Capcom moved to the Wii console on December 11, 2008. This extraordinary fighter will blend these two rich universes by taking Capcom characters like Ryu from Street Fighter, Morrigan from Darkstalkers and the giant PTX-40A from Lost Planet and putting them against Tatsunoko fan-favorite characters from Gatchaman, Hurricane Polymar, Casshern and more. It’s a battler oyale that delivers match-ups that only exist in fans wildest dreams!

Unlike the more well-known six-button layout that the Street Fighter franchise pioneered, the VS line features a simplified four button system: “Weak”, “Medium”, “Strong” and “Assist” for the tag-team option of. The “Assist” feature adds another compelling element found Capcom’s other “VS” series: allowing players to switch their character on the fly or call for help from their tag-team partner, allowing for spectacular super moves (“Hyper Variable Combination”). Successful execution of the Assist feature can turn the tide of battle on a dime. Historically the VS series excels in integrating the tag-team options by including customized moves like Variable Assist, Snapback, and the previously mentioned Hyper Variable combination that lets both characters on one team perform their Hyper attack.

TvC enhances the above gameplay with new mechanics, including the Variable Aerial Rave that allows characters to be switched in the middle of an Aerial rave. More moves include the offensive Assault and defensive maneuver Mega Crash. Another new gameplay mechanic, titled Baroque, illuminates the character in a rainbow of colors, cancels the current attack and extends combos and damage.

Featuring a robust line-up of characters, the console version added four mini-games and optional control schemes

This “newer” version of TvC, currently dubbed Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, removes one character due to licensing issues, and adds five new ones, online gameplay, more mini-games and an enhanced story mode.

    Features:

    • 26 fan-favorite characters from the Tatsunoko and Capcom universes face-off in this stylish 2D fighter

    • Tag-team battles and customized two-character fighting techniques produce a wild, dazzling spectacle

    • Wi-Fi Online gameplay allows worldwide matches

    • Four battle modes include Friend, Rival, Free and Ranked Battles

    • Match-ups are not restricted to just “Friends”

    • Earn Points and Titles (for Title Creation) for all to see

    • All-new VS gameplay mechanics creates a new way for fans to return to the series

    • More than 20 Mini-game provide additional multiplayer fun

    • Enhanced control schemes offer a simplified control scheme option and allow use of the Classic Controller and Gamecube Controller

    • Wii-exclusive
    Five new characters! Online mode!

The character that got removed due to licensing issues was Daimao (the genie). He'll be sorely missed amongst me and my friends, we loved dropping crates and going "oh bingo bingo". But five new characters, I assume 3 for Tatsunoko and 2 for Capcom. That's a pretty big plus. For the Capcom side (as I know barely anything from Tatsunoko), I'd definitely like to see another Rival Schools characters (Edge or Akira perhaps?) or another one from Darkstalkers (B.B. Hood or Hsien Ko), or hey even Power Stone, that would be ace.

Fall (US) release date has been thrown around.

Guess I will be getting this game again.

All I know is there will be a Yoshi in Mario Galaxy II.

And that is all I needed to know.

I would buy Tatsunoko again. Online YES! Booyah! New characters? YES! Damn fine gameplay? YEEEEEEEEES! Looks like they are adding a few things from SFIV with the online fighting and trophy options.Excitement levels UUUUUUUUUUUP!

Oh, Daimao, how I would baffle newbies to the game with you. I believe Speed Racer is a Tatsunoko chappy. Beyblades and they had a part in Evangelion as well. Hmmm, more big robots?

On the Capcom side, since Yami is the bad guy at the end, I would like to see Amaterasu from Okami as well. I think the way the weapons and Celestial Brush were done, they would work hell schmikky in a Vs Cap game. Shame they didn't drop Roll for someone betterer.
