    Default Factory closure in China

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081019/...a_factory_woes

Makes you consider the Toy companies more in that particular light and the high prices we pay here that should have gone back to the factories. AND also really does explain more about the lower quality of finish on toys as the companies have to cut costs to keep up with the purchasers demands.

Almost drives me to a flat out stop buy.

The end consumer also benefits from the lower prices the toy companies force on the manufacturers.

Not only that but it does help with our nation's balance of trade and therefore overall wellbeing of our own economy.

How do we benefit? I doubt they will pass on the savings.

The multinational toy companies will keep their margins no matter what. If they are being charged more by manufacturers you will be charged more by retailers.

Which consumer? Not us by a long shot. The only consumers that benefit are the Americans, the rest of the world gets screwed by the, well, everyone, while the factory workers suffer through it all.

I think you might have missed the point.

With the closure of so many factories, they won't be able to produce what we need, thus we pay even more due to lack of supply to demand.

Article also states that if things go to plan the area will end up with more efficient factories.
