Maybe #1 for the more complex stuff that needs specialised tools, and both #1 and #2 for the simpler stuff?
Maybe couple it with a handful of publicly-accessible "how-to" videos to increase interest in #2 and ultimately #1? 99% of kitbash/customising videos only exist to showcase the final product; they don't tend to show how to get from A to B for the enthusiastic amateur. And people who have worked along with the public videos and been successful in their results are more likely to be interested in trying out projects with upgrade kits.
I did a test video today while doing some airbrushing, turned out pretty good. I am starting to make some plans...

I did a test video on my customs Facebook page (Facebook.com/mstoycustoms), doing an LED swap in a “party cube” to make Energon cubes. Worked pretty well, except my voice is pretty daft sounding at best. Turns out that in addition to having a good face for radio, I have a good voice for silent movies.
The whole video goes for a tad over 11 minutes.
Anyway, if anyone is on FB wants to give it a look-see and give feedback here, I’d be grateful.
I will do a pictorial post in the creative section at some stage.

May be you could do all of your future videos using interpretative dance.
Video came up good, look forward to more.
