I'm a bit on the fence with this Starscream. I like Starscream, and he's a character I'd be happy having multiple versions of. I also don't have a 'CHUG' version of Starscream (unless you count the Armada and FoC Starscreams from 2013-14. I was excited when they announced a Voyager Starscream for PotP, but when I saw pictures of it, it looked kinda... gimmicky, and his proportions were weird. I've recently watched reviews for it and they didn't seem all that positive. I saw this guy today for $39 (which is an awesome price for a Voyager), but I still didn't bite.. It seems I like Starscream; but not enough to buy a B-minus figure of him at a cheap price. Or maybe I'm just satisfied enough to have MP-11 (the ultimate G1 Starscream figure)? Dunno.. Maybe I need to handle someone's copy of the figure before I'm convinced enough to buy one..

FatalityPitt: why not go with the Deluxe Classics Starscream? That's a pretty awesome mould!

I saw someone custom potp ss into leo zack and making the forearms white made a world of difference. I'll happily wait for this to go on sale so I can do a spot of repainting

If I can find one for under $50, I'd certainly grab it. I got back into collecting Transformers in 2010, so I missed out on Classics/Universe/Henkei, and sellers on eBay are selling the Starscreams from those lines for more than what I'd be willing to pay for a Deluxe (even if it's from a discontinued line). I did buy a few knock-offs, and I regretted it every time (the quality was awful). So my approach now is to wait for a newer better Starscream to come out. Wish they'd re-issue the 2008 Universe Starscream though. That one looks perfect!

I got this figure this morning from Toys'r'us (20% off). Wasn't expecting it to be good, but I bought it anyway because it's Starscream (...And because it's on sale.. And I may never get to shop at Toy's'r'us ever again after this..). Even though many reviewers say the good thing about the figure is the 'combined' mode; I have no intentions of exploiting that feature, and until now I've still not opened the torso to look and the combiner head.

For me, it's not as visually bad as I thought. Proportions are funny, but so was Animated and FoC Starscream's. Transformation from Jet to robot and back is very simple. If it wasn't for the combiner gimmick, it could have been miles better (maybe even have the actual cockpit transform to be part of the actual chest - i.e. no faux cockpit). Yeah, I think the fact that it's a Combiner torso is what kills this.

Do I regret buying it? Not really. I always buy G1 Starscream , and I need a Voyager Neo-classics G1 Starscream in my collection.

Do I recommend? I think it depends on how much you like the character. If you're a big fan like me, get it on sale (don't pay full price), otherwise ignore.

I'll stick with deluxe Generations Thrust. His alt. mode has always been a greater stand out look (since G1) than the realistic kind of look that is usually stereotypical of Starscream and his two closest Seekers.
