I didnt like the DOTM Vortex head so did some experimenting.
FoC Vortex head socket was too large - it's held on here by blu tac

A repainted CW First Aid head was just right for me. Might need to move the shoulders up a smidge in bot mode.
The head is a smidge too wide to allow full transformation. but I know what needs to be done and if it wasn't a limited release figure I'd do the mod.

    Isn't DOTM Vortex limited?
IIRC it was only released by Takara and I don't think it was widely available on Australian shelves. I'm happy to be corrected, however.

Been doing some repairs to figures missing parts I bought off Ebay.
First was a Drag Strip missing a front wheel. I cut up the tank thing that came with cyberverse Skybyte to create the classic G1 look. Alas they don't roll.

Next is a CW Optimus missing a bit more than I expected - a wheel, his leg panels and gestalt waist piece. For the latter I spraypainted a piece I had cut off from FoC Impactor years ago. Just clips on. It's a bit smaller but does the job.

    DOTM Buzzsaw!
Took part of the wings off for my custom Cut-throat, realised there weren't many options for this mold so just painted the red bits yellow.

I didn't like the exposed forearms being on the outside of spark armor Cheetor, so I swapped the arms over and then the hands.
He's a bit bow-legged in beast mode, but I much prefer this

Put a new head on a custom Skyjack I bought off Ebay. The original used a Toyhax sticker on the back of the head but it didn't work for me.

Painted Elita-!'s shins to match the packaging art

Painted Repugnus' face to break up the yellow (yes I know it's not show/G1 accurate)

Added a teeny-tiny nose to cyberverse Strongarm so she wouldn't stand out so much in a CHUG crowd

'No nose? How did she smell?'
    'Terrible!"
