WOw, I really like both modes, but the just plastic colouring makes him rather drab, he really needs some paint on him. Might wait for the Ratchet repaint too, although I don't think I have ANY Ironhides in my collection....

He looks good, nice and burly. I can't get over the battle damage on his toes though Who aims for someone's feet?

But yes, most definitely a fan of the cleaner look, especially on the windscreen/chest when compared to a figure like Soundwave.

Got this guy today, very impressed. Size and heft are there and he just evokes the bot mode I loved seeing on TV as a kid.

Alt mode is very nice, still earthen enough to fit with my other ‘84 bots with a bit of imagination put in as well. The flaps on the side of the legs that form the side of the cab come off a bit easily, and it looks like some plastic around the joint peeled off or something. Wish there was a pin instead.

Very thrilled to have a large and in charge, definitive classics Ironhide. I honestly can’t wait for Ratchet, who should hopefully have a new, softer looking headsculpt.

    Second best of the wave.

Not a fan of IH, however I do like the look of this. Will still pass though.

Maybe his battle damage comes from running on broken terrain...or Lego?

The leg flaps are fine on mine, but in vehicle mode I can’t get the cockpit to shut. Must be doing something wrong with the head transformation I think.

Overall he’s a little more short and stout than I’d like.

As a huge Ratchet fan (and somewhat indifferent to auto hide) I look forward to that version more.

I had the same issue with mine. Just use a hair dryer on it to warm it up. Also give the head a good spin after so it folds in all the way forward when closing the cockpit

Awesome deluxe toy. Kinda wish it was a voyager though.

Also holds a special place in my heart from here on as it was the first “non-simplistic” TF toy that my 6 year old read the instructions and transformed by himself without first being shown how to do it.

Any chance of a side-by-side comparison pic with Universe/Henkei Ironhide please?

    I quite like this figure.

It's large, and I love the torso twist in the transformation. That and the leg panels (which thank the Maker hold fine on mine) add a bit of spice to what is a straightfoward transformation.

It looks like it stepped out of a computer game or off the page of a comic book, but in a good way.

I'm left with mixed feels on the paint on this figure. I really love it on the weapon, where it is reasonably uniformly applied and looks great. It looks stupid on the feet, and I'd have preferred that that paint budget would have gone to the wheels.

I also really appreciate that this isn't just an Earth van with a bit of Cybertronian greebling in the way that WFCS Optimus Prime, Hound and Sideswipe are essentially Earth vehicles with some bits attached. It has the mass and solidity of the van but is quite sleek and compact.
I'm really just here for the free food and open bar.
