Next Saturday, May 11th, the second Toymate store for WA/Perth opens, at the old ToysRUs site in Joondalup.
Being a big toy store site, it is said to be having a lot of kid-friendly features, and should be commended for hiring quite a few of the ToysRUs staff who lost their jobs last year.

The 2000sm experiential retail store will feature a designated parents room, a play area with trampolines, ball pits and a cinema room, as well as thousands of products from toy suppliers.
Toymate has also re-hired 20 former Joondalup Toys R Us staff, promoting casual workers to second in charge and manager positions within the new store.
Founder and CEO of Toymate, Danny Bloom, said that the store is one of Toymate's biggest achievements.
That will give them 18 stores again (after the closure of 2 stores in NSW in the last few months), with 15 in NSW, 2 in WA, and 1 in QLD.

The article notes that there Toymate could open some more stores this year, noting Queensland (hopefully Brisbane), and in the new states of Victoria and Tasmania.
Hopefully they do end up entering into those two southern states by the end of the year, as it would truly make them a national retailer for toys, and could increase their buying power with Hasbro to bring down their retail prices to compete with Kmart or BigW (as well as become a source for exclusives). They already have a great price matching if you are a loyalty member.
