Default Poll: Will you be buying Unicron?

Full credit should go to MayzaPrime for this as it was his idea

    ARE YOU ORDERING UNICRON?

With 16 days to go, the current numbers for people who have preordered Unicron sit at 2562 backers, according to the Hasbro Pulse website. Pretty short of the 8000 that is apparently required by August 31st. This means they need to get an average of 340 orders a day between now and the end of the month.

Of course, many are speculating that there could be a big rush at the end as people decide they want this figure after all. Others have suggested that maybe the numbers will get 'accidentally' fudged so that it appears 8000 have ordered, or even that the deadline might be extended, thereby giving Hasbro Pulse the opportunity to avoid both embarrassment and/or a fan backlash.

At any rate, it would be interesting to know how many Ozformer members have ordered this figure. You can either vote anonymously or otherwise vote and tell us what you personally are doing in regards to this big toy

Personally I had given up on getting Unicron, but when I saw the deal they had going at ZING I preordered one for myself

I was going to get one somehow, but when the zing pre-order came up I jumped on it. theres still a small voice in the back of my head telling me to order two, I try not to listen to that voice.

It's looking like there are going to be some nice features with the maw opening and closing, the face being replaceable with a battle damaged version, the head being removable, the teeth can be retracted so you can't see them in his mouth. I really do hope they go ahead with it.

The number of backers on the Pulse site is misleading as it does not include international orders. Ì was always going to source one and thankfully Zing decided to import it. I think that decision will see a lot of Aussie collectors grab it now. I'm confident it will get made.

Probably gonna put my deposit on in the next week or so. I have birthday funds to use, which is nice.

Payments before 2021 shouldn’t be too hard.

Hope so, as on the Pulse site they have had less than 200 more orders over the past 4 days

I?m undecided. Usually a figure either is an immediate must-buy, or it tends to swim inside my head for some time. Unicron is doing neither of these things for me.

I was originally going to skip Unicron... but like most of us here when Zing put up preorders I jumped on it thanks to a text message from DaptoDog.

It all boils down to whether or not you're going to regret purchasing or regret skipping this toy. If you think that you're going to feel buyer's remorse then skip it. If you're going to feel, uh, skipper's remorse?... then get it. Sure beats paying some stupid scalper's above RRP later on.

    "But what if I'm undecided?"
Then pre-order it from EB/Zing. Seriously. The great thing about pre-ordering from EB/Zing is that you are under no obligation to complete your purchase. You can change your mind at any time up until opening the damn toy. EB/Zing allow you to cancel at any time, even after the toy has arrived for you and any money that you've deposited will be refunded. Even after you purchase the toy and bring it home, as long as you haven't opened the toy and it's still a recent purchase, you can still bring it back and refund it. This is the great thing about pre-ordering/purchasing from a brick and mortar store; change of mind and refunds are so much easier! And really, you've got about 16 months to think about it; and at any time you can cancel your order.
(Source: I explicitly spoke with an EB employee about this)

But yeah, who cares if other people want to buy it or not? Unless you're a completist then we ALL selectively choose to purchase and not purchase specific toys. We all have our essential and non-essential purchases. I really want to get Siege Galactic Man but others couldn't care less. This is no different... aside from the massive price. But as I said, the EB/Zing option gives you the choice to reserve the toy now and change your mind later.

The site is still only listing the US orders, which is a bit over 3000 now, but they did also announce separately on the weekend that they have received 1500 orders so far from overseas sources. So that brings the total to around 4.5k with a bit over a week to go to reach the 8000/

I wonder if Japan is interested in Cookie Monster? It's at 570/3000 backers with less than one day to go.
