Here are two I've come up with:

My version of Guard City. It's POTP Inferno for the torso and Hasbro Protectobots for the limbs. I didn't want to customise it so the resemblance is pretty vague.

A mashup of my favourite limbs while mucking around with my G1 figures.

Dreamwave Comics did a competition way back when where people had to draw a Megatron combiner, using Megatrons from all different continuities. I've been trying to find pics of the winners online - the top winner was absolutely fantastic, he even had different Megatrons for individual fingers.

Yeah, I've been surprised they have never done a Seeker combiner, I'm sure it will occur to the powers that be eventually.

Of course, there is always the idea of Soundwave as a torso with his various cassettes making up the limbs.

A Junkion combiner would be pretty sweet I reckon. The colours would be pretty consistent across the gestalt which I think usually looks good. You could have a Garbage Truck character (like Animated Wreck-Gar) for the torso, Jeep characters (like E-hobby Detritus) for the legs and Motorcycle characters (like Generations Junkheap) for the arms.

Another idea. In The Covenant of Primus it talks about the original 13 Primes having a big fight with Unicron. If they were ever to do a different version of the story, they could have Almagamous Prime (master of shape changing) and Nexus Prime (master of combination) use their powers to combine the 13 primes into one giant robot to fight the Chaos Bringer. A gestalt made of the Original 13 Primes would have to be about the most powerful non-god Transformer ever one would think - especially if it was weilding the weapons made by Solus Prime like the Star Saber and Requiem Blaster.

The G1 gestalt teams were cool. Id be happy with gestalts of the G1 size. Almost no articulation, monopod feet, tiny little arms (unless you are a seacon), they were cool.
The limb bots were also designed to a template, I've always wanted to design my own. If anyone has a G1 limb bot handy, could you measure the head peg, the basic dimensions of the torso 'block', and anything else that was 'sstandard' across the limbs (from the 1980s).
I know its alot but I cant find the measurements online anywhere ...

    Thankyou in advance

Measuring the small part might be difficult but if you look online you can find copyright patent details of many G1 toys. Here’s an example from a company selling them as prints, examples:

If you can find the sources those details might provide the measurements you need

I've got a handful of junkers (the bodies and heads are all intact) that I could send your way if you want. A few Protectobots, Combaticons, Seacons, maybe some Aerialbots too (but I think some of the Aerialbots were KOs). Think I have one limb-bot from the Technobot and Stunticon teams too.

If you're interested, I'll see what I've got and we can take it from there.
