    Default cygnus' universe 2.0 repaint

First of all, I have to say I am not those with superb skills on painting and masking ...so don't be shocked when u find some junior school level art works.

been so much love with the classic 2.0, but indeed compare to 1.0, the paint job is too simple.

it is not obvious to what I've done. ..

actually just painting most of the "grey" into silver. ..

and for sunsteaker I've put some bronze paint on the forearm, and the black skirt in alt mode.

again just some silver paint of prowl

as i said i am no good in masking, here is the proof

just grab my ironhide few days ago, all good except the face paint job (it was painted in "blue", similar to the window color )

can anyone teach me how to do masking?
    really want to improve skills.

anyway, that is so far what I've done to them.

I either hand paint or completely pull apart the TF so I don't have to try and mask because as you have found out you can't always see where you have stuffed up until after the fact. Just fix it up by hand if you have a good eye.

Nice work with the silver, I'm glad that it appears to stay on the figure, the plastics that have been used on the alst few figures have not been paint friendly (Prowl in particular).

The fun part about taking transformers apart to paint them, is unless you can paint them and get them back together fast, you kinda forget where everything goes...

One of the problems also with these newer figures is that they are held more by pins than screws which make putting them back togetter, not to mention taking them apart such a chore. While the parts you dont want to take off just fall off away more often unintentionally .

Good work there cygnus, I myself have been meaning to color my own classics 2.0 with my remaining Silver paint, but getting laziness get the best of me yet again hehehe. Reminds me to pick up some paint tomorrow at Hobbyco if they're on sale like last time.

I use Tamiya masking tape for models. It's not like the dodgy beige rolls you buy in stores. Its flexible and can be moved into curves, water resistant, and it can be stuck over existing layers of paint without any danger of lifting anything up.

Comes in various sizes, with dispensers and as refill rolls.

    thank you google.
