    Default Target stores to close

Up to 75 Target stores to close, or be converted to K-Mart stores:

Not sure if that will impact Transformers collectors. I haven’t bought much from Target for a good while (prices often cheaper elsewhere), but less options in the market is not usually a positive move for consumers.

They haven't been great for Transformers, and aren't price competitive like kmart and bigw, but give another option to those in cities, particularly with sales.
I don't think they've had any exclusives for a while, but I think they might have had something this year.
If they go completely it will be one less source of sale catalogues for price-matching... something we are already suffering from with the loss of ToysRUs.

My concern is that they will be closing about 50 target country stores and a lot of those places might not have significant toy options.
And TC stores I've been to over the years were not big enough to be putting other stores out of business in small country towns.

it's a shame, Target has been a mainstay of Australian retail for years. I do buy transformers there, often with price matching and they have been pretty good with toy sales over the last few years. At least keeping Big W competitive.

There's a target country in my parents home town, it's toy section is a joke, as are most of it's other sections. if thats representative it's not even worth considering. there are two other dedicated toy stores and a Kmart there which are always better options.

It has been a pretty solid source for SS Voyagers over the last few years.
