    ※This list is only Hasbro G1, but yes, Star Sabre is the other Middle G1 character who exists as an MP.

    Unlike CHUG where I want to see every G1 TF made, my desire is predominantly Early G1 for MPs. Yeah, I own Star Sabre but that's because it's cheaper/easier than getting a G1 Star Sabre toy (which I personally dislike) from the secondary market. Plus it was free for me. I got Wingthing because I didn't get MP Ratbat and it was an easy way to at least own the same mould. But yeah, I'm generally more interested in Early G1 for Masterpiece - especially the remaining first year Autobot Cars.

    But What About BW MPs and MPMs?

    Yes, these are welcome to be discussed in this thread too. How much of the original BW and Movieverse toys would you like to see made as MPs? The great thing about BW MPs is that there'll never be an issue with licensing. And Movieverse licences are pretty easy to get, with rare exceptions like Dino/Mirage.

    These mostly don't personally interest me, but I do own an MPM Bumblebee movie Bumblebee, as well as MP Optimus Primal, Cheetor and Blackarachnia (although Cheetor was a freebie). I skipped Megatron and Dinobot for BW (although I'd seriously consider getting an MP BW Grimlock) and I skipped every other MPM. Even keep on skipping MPM Barricade even though he's massively shelfwarming at half price at ToyMate. I guess Studio Series is good enough for me when it comes to newer versions of Movieverse (and even though I'm a tad selective). Optimus Primal I got for sentimental reasons (he was the very first BW toy that I got back in '96) and I bought Blackarachnia since that toy is drastically different from the original toy. Hooray for not being a Tarantulas repaint. But for the most part I'm not much of a collector for post-BW TFs.

    Interestingly enough all MP lines have focused on the early years for each series. G1 MPs are mostly from Early G1. BW MPs are currently all from Season 1, and MPMs are currently all from the first live action movie (except for the one I own ). This isn't at all meant to be criticism about MPs - MP has always been a very small/limited line that's meant to focus on quality over quantity.

    "Hello there, I'm a non Early BW MP!"

    Okay, fine. Except for Lio Convoy (whose name is frequently mispronounced* by a lot of Anglophone fans anyway ), most BW MPs so far have come from Early BW.

    (*Say "Lye-Oh" Convoy, not "Lee-Oh" Convoy)

    I'd take any MP's NOT seperated into Gold, Silver, Bronze and Dark ages.... Just say Series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

    Anything NOT combiner or Jetfire/Omega/City sized up to series 4 for me. 5 is where the cartoon nostalgia wears off (Seeing them in action with personalities) so anything Series 4 onwards is just a toy.

    If they really wanted to push into 5, I'd take the Masterforce characters, but not the entire range. MP is a Japanese line anyway. Victory/Zone similar, but skip the Micromasters.

    I voted 1984-1987. I'm hardly expecting anything beyond that from G1 to get done (Star Saber aside) and I don't really care personally, happy to get those in CHUG. All I desperately want from early G1 is Jazz, Mirage and Cliffjumper, anything else from that era I would buy depending on how well it was done as well as price.
    Looking to buy lucky draw Armada Prime and Diaclone Marlboor Wheeljack.

    I concur. I think that Star Sabre is a special exception because he was won the fans choice poll. Raiden is going to be the next outlier and it will be interesting to see how well that sells. I haven't accessed TakaraTOMY's online MP poll since 2017 so I don't know if subsequent surveys have included Raiden as an option, or if a sufficient number of fans have explicitly nominated the Trainbots as future MPs that they want to see made (as manual nominations is an option on the survey). But yeah, Star Sabre and the Trainbots are certainly the exception rather than the rule.

    Having said that, I fully intend on buying the MP Trainbots. But that's because I don't own the G1 Trainbots and a full set of CHUG Trainbots don't exist (only Shouki as a redeco of Classics Astrotrain). And I'm happy to have MP Star Sabre because I don't own G1 Star Sabre.

    Golden Age Early G1 MPs are near-certainties (w/ some exceptions like variants and MP45). With post-Golden Age G1 MPs I'm more selective. I skipped MP9 Rodimus Convoy but I got the cheaper MP Rodimus Prime on sale at TRU. I also got MP22 and MP28 - although both being freebies didn't hurt ). I am also planning on pre-ordering MP Arcee as soon as I can. But on the other hand I did skip MP Soundblaster and MP40 Targetmaster Hot Rod, so admittedly I am more selective with post-Golden Age Early G1 MPs.

    Yeah, if they release any new MPs on any of the Golden Age Early G1 TFs then I will just throw my money at them.
    e.g. when MP Hound was out for pre-order, even as the most expensive MP Autobot Car, I just threw my money at it. I don't care. If it's a Golden Age Early G1 MP then I will buy it. My most fervent wish is for the remainder of the first year Autobot Cars to be done as MPs - Meister, Trailbreaker, Ligier, Cliff, Drag, Gong, Gears and Charger. If either of these come out then I will happily throw my money at them. I can wait for Meister and Cliff because we know that TakaraTOMY still need to work around the Porsche licensing thing, but also because I'm fine with continuing to use my BT Meister and Alternity Cliff as stand-ins for MP Jazz and Cliffjumper until they can actually exist. I can even wait on Ligier since I have Alternators Mirage (and BT Ligier). But I more desperately want Trailbreaker, Drag, Gong Gears and Charger as I don't have any BT/ALT/Alt'y versions of them (and no, my BT Overdrive doesn't count as Charger).

    And naturally these outstanding G1 MPs have redeco potential too...
    * Meister ---> G2 Meister, Stepper
    * Trailbreaker ---> Hoist, Diaclone decos as new characters
    * Ligier ---> Diaclone deco as new character
    * Cliff ---> Hubcap
    * Drag ---> Pipes
    * Gong ---> Outback
    * Charger ---> Tailgate
    * Gears ---> Wave

    I wish I could still access the online survey so that I could vote on or nominate these characters. I hope that those of you in Japan or with VPNs are still doing so.

    I didn't mention him as an exception since he is from 1987, but he is an outlier in that he will be the first MP combiner. Really looking forward to seeing how they tackle this one.

    Out of those I would definitely buy:
    Jazz
    Diaclone Trailbreaker
    Diaclone Hoist
    Mirage
    Diaclone Mirage
    Cliffjumper
    Hubcap
    Pipes
    Outback

    I would consider buying:
    Swerve
    Tailgate
    Stepper

    I would probably not buy:
    G2 Jazz
    Trailbreaker
    Hoist
    Windcharger
    Huffer
    Brawn
    Gears
    Looking to buy lucky draw Armada Prime and Diaclone Marlboor Wheeljack.

    Just an outlier for me as my sights are focused more on the Golden Age of Early G1, but yes, as far as Early G1 is concerned he's absolutely within that range. And there are certainly other Silver Age Early G1 TFs in MP (e.g. Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, Hot Rod). Devastator is the only Golden Age Early G1 gestalt, all other Early G1 gestalts are from the Silver Age, so Raiden is really no different from say Abominus or Computron. I wonder if they're also deliberately avoiding gestalts already done in CHUG. Still, if Raiden proves successful then it may prompt TakaraTOMY to make more MP gestalts in the future. Especially more Middle G1 gestalts not done in CHUG. King Poseidon is done but they could go for say MP Landcross or Dinoking (which Hasbro could redeco as Monstructor). Would also love an MP Liokaiser.

    I voted Golden Age. Which includes (for me) the season 1-2 cartoon bots. But I don't expect we'll ever see the Aerialbots, etc...

    Eagerly waiting for Masterpiece Meister
