Default Toy Review - SMOKESCREEN (Earthrise)

    SMOKESCREEN
    Series - Generations
    Sub-line - Earthrise
Hypo-line - War For Cybertron Trilogy
    Size/class - Deluxe
New/remould/redeco - New (ish? shared engineering with the Seige Datsun bros)
    Wave - 2
    Released here - Cotober 2020
    Approximate Retail Price - $30-40
Approximate Size - No bloody idea. I can't be trusted with rulers. Gok will let me know, I'm sure.
    Allegiance - Autobot
    Alt-mode - Datsun-ish car.
    Main Features/Gimmicks - It transforms!
Main Colours - red, blue, white
Main Accessories - Two shoulder cannons/pistols, and a larger rifle.

    Pictures added to post.

    PROS
    - A beautiful looking figure. Sharply painted in bright colours. Really pops in both modes. Almost has a 'just stepped off the screen' look to it.
    - Fun, if unimaginative, accessories. The two shoulder cannons can be used as pistols.
    - Great use of kibble on the robot mode. In an age where more and more car transformers are basically robot men balled up under a cape of car bits, I've really enjoyed this figure. The only kibble that ends up on the back of the robot mode is the front half of the roof, and the windscreen. It produces a really clean looking robot mode.
    - Great stability, and great poseability..

    CONS
    - A few too many things rely on friction. The feet rely on friction to lock into place. Not an issue on mine out of the box, but might become so in the long term?
    - Shoulder tabs a bit weak. Not a massive problem, but it just means that they don't 'lock' in place.
    - Paint chipping might be an issue in the long term, especially on the hood and roof.

    SUMMARY
    - A nice, fun, solid figure. A genuine delight.

I love this toy. My only "negative" is the blue handgun - which does not bother me, but it may bother some.

    Eagerly waiting for Masterpiece Meister

Mate... just PM me a postal address and I will just send you a ruler or measuring tape! (I'm serious - consider it a gift )

P.S. I don't own an ER Smokescreen to measure (or Bluestreak). Donations welcome.
    P.P.S. Poll please?

Going by Sanrio standards, he's 2 apples high.

    This made me laugh.

So, I have Masterpiece Bluestreak which I like. I am curious to know, which do people think offers more fun value

In all seriousness, Smokescreen is according to my digital calipers is 130.6mm high, so the apples are on the small side, either Pink Lady or Mount Fuji.

You have made me upset, as I went to the trouble of taking the bloody thing in to work today to measure it using my secretary's ruler!

    (but also thank you)

(I promise to be better in the future Gok)

When measuring toys for scale byo apples.

I have Smokescreen and Bluestreak both are awesome. If the blue gun is annoying its not like us as collectors dont have plenty of other weapons to fill in.
