I just read an article on the Guardian about new toy trends (although many articles are for the UK, the Australian edition published an article on the Australian toy trends emerging).

But here’s the transformer specific information:


In 2020 Headstart, Australia’s largest toy company, launched a line of plush toys whose fur, filling and even threading is upcycled from household plastic waste. (Note that recycled materials can’t always be recycled again). Their Re-Buildables range offers similar sourcing for hard plastic toys. With local licensing rights to Care Bears, Sesame Street, Disney, Tonka and Transformers, some products are already available with more on the way.


So it looks like we will be seeing a line of Transformer themed plushes at some point, and that these may be specific to Australia. Given that we often miss out on exclusives, the novelty of something only appearing here seems quite appealing.
