Okay, so I've been using this new welcome banner quite a few times now...

...has anyone managed to work out what the Cybertronian text on the top says? A Marvel No-Prize to the first person who gets it right! ;D

Hooray! Congratulations! I was getting worried for a while that maybe nobody was getting the meaning of my new banner. I award you with x1 No-Prize and +10 Experience Points.

When and where did someone come up with a Cybertronian alphabet?

Cybertronian scripts (whether they're all actually alphabets or not is unclear) have existed since G1. In 'More Than Meets The Eye Part 2,' Teletran-1 displayed Cybertronian script (which Spike could read!!). In 'Decepticon Grafitti' when the Battlechargers first came to Earth, they started defacing monuments in Cybertronian script (before realising that none of the humans could read it, so then they graffitied the Statue of Liberty in English with "All Humans Die" (although they wrote the "S" backwards )). In 'Cosmic Rust' the Decepticons found that decayed Autobot colony they found text and Starscream remarked, "Too bad none of us can read Ancient Autobot." In 'The Rebirth,' the Plasma Energy Chamber also had ancient Cybertronian script inscribed on its control panel.

Beast Wars had actual real functioning alphabets, based directly off the Roman Alphabet but with Cybertronian letters. The Maximals and Predacons had separate Alphabets which were also seen on the Ark and Nemesis. Cybertronian writing is shown extensively on Cybertron in Beast Machines, such as Season 2 Megatron whose avatar was that giant head made up of Cybertronix letters. The movie continuity has also given us Cybertronian scripts, such as that written in the Language of the Primes.

A mate of mine who's a hardcore Star Wars fan has a tattoo on his arm; it's the Imperial symbol with Aurrabesh writing that reads, "For a safe and secure society."

Sorry to be a pedant but (in the US series at least) they wrote "Humans are wimps" - with the backwards S, twice!

I know this only because it was the very first issue of the Transformers comic I bought.

Yes you're right. It was Shockwave who wrote "All Humans Die" (front cover art). Btw, I think you meant "pedantic," unless you really are a kind of ornament attached to a necklace!
