Default Toy Review - OPTIMUS PRIME (Transformers One Studio Series)

    OPTIMUS PRIME
    Series - Generations
    Sub-line - Studio Series
    Hypo-line - Transformers One
    Size/class - Deluxe
    New/remould/redeco - new
    Wave - 24.5
    Released here - July 2024
    Approximate Retail Price - $38.95
    Approximate Size - 15cm
    Allegiance - Autobot
    Alt-mode - Hemsworthy 83 Cybertronian truck
    Main Features/Gimmicks - N/A
Main Colours - Optimus Prime colours
Main Accessories - x2 shoulder pipes, dual barrel bull bar, energy axe, Matrix

    In box

    Robot mode

The axe clips onto the back and the bull bar thing attaches inside the back panel, but very loosely. And there's no way for OP to hold it like a weapon. Would've been nice if the back panel were on a 5mm peg that could detach and be used as a shield, but no... it's riveted in place. :/

    Axe

    This is OP's only weapon.

    Matrix

The fists have grooves that allow him to hold the Matrix without needing to be able to open/close the fists. I think this is a pretty neat feature.

    Cybertronian truck mode

    Truck mode, rear

    Truck mode without the bling

I'm really not a fan of this truck mode. There's a big gap in the middle of the truck cabin and the fists are exposed (they don't fold in nor are they concealed). Parts of the toy can be a bit tricky to tab in. Pretty underwhelming.

    "It's an evolution revolution..."

Overall: Underwhelming. Recommended only if you're looking to collect TF One Optimus Prime, and even then, look at the mainline options.

Looks good with a blaster. Don't care for his alt mode. Painted his smokestacks silver which makes them look alot better.

This figure looks and feels female to me. Paint the red in pink, the blue in dark pink and the grey in white and you've got a heavy duty Elita-1 imo

Okay, I have a much better appreciation for this toy after having seen the movie. Not gonna say why or how, but... yeah... things make more sense now.

    He has a Matrix, and it's a G1 Matrix.

More G1 in the Bayverse = potentially cool.

But I hope they are not going to try and reboot G1 or something.
I have a list of all G1 characters that have been released in CHUG form. You can find it here. Please feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong so I can fix it.
